Are you still working on the Kenku race? --Balthazar (talk) 19:59, 10 April 2015 (MDT)
I wasn't particularly planning on it, but I could continue work on it if you'd like me to do so. --Mr. Murder Cat (talk) 17:50, 10 April 2015 (HAST)
I've always like the race and it seems like a shame to leave it hanging in the unfinished section because it has no Subraces. If you need any help on it I would be glad to help. I have a basic grasp of the rules of 5e and have created some homebrew races before (though some of them still need work XD). --Balthazar (talk) 06:26, 11 April 2015 (MDT)
In that case, I'll start work on it either later today or tomorrow. If you have any suggestions I'd be happy to listen, just post them here or maybe on the Kenku race talk page if there is one. I have a few basic ideas, but I'd have to do some more research and possibly find out if it's related to some real-world myths or lore. I also noticed that there seemed to be some flavor missing, and I'll try to work on that as well. --Mr. Murder Cat (talk) 15:59, 11 April 2015 (HAST)
I added some comments in the discussion already on what I thought the base of the race was. The mimicry attributes and the crow heads seem very similar to the karasu tengu of Japanese folklore (minus the not being able to fly thing). I'm looking forward to seeing the finished class and I cant wait to make a Kenku adventurer. Good Luck! --Balthazar (talk) 20:36, 11 April 2015 (MDT)
I apologize for not having been able to work on this recently, as I have been quite ill for the past 6 days, rendering me able to do little other than lying in bed. However, I woke up today and think I'll be able to work on it, as I have not yet been given a headache from glancing at the screen. I'll begin work on it right away. --Mr. Murder Cat (talk) 7:43, 18 April 2015 (HAST)
I've finished the prototypes for subtypes, and I think they're pretty good. However, please feel free to leave suggestions as to what should be done with them.--Mr. Murder Cat (talk 9:26, 18 April 2015 (HAST)
You've improved the detail in the race a great deal. It's awesome! My only regret is I started playing a Kenku before you had posted the blessed Kenku... Unfortunately my experience with 5e rules are not the best (my DM frequently complains at my habit of checking the book every 5 minutes of play) so I can't comment much on the actual balance of the subraces and racial abilities, but from what I've read they seem pretty good. If I notice anything I'll comment on it here. Good luck! --Balthazar (talk) 13:32, 18 April 2015 (MDT)
- About that Kenku (5e_Race) page; it, uh, kinda bugs me. Origins aside, there is precedent of tengu existing in D&D that aren't kenku, and that share no real similarities with them (beyond the avian part); what do you think of the idea of splitting them into two races? I've made my case in the Talk page for it. Knowlessman (talk) 21:59, 13 March 2016 (MDT)
