Mammothodon (based on Mammuthari and Loxodon)[edit]
"Nomadic, big and powerful ancient woolly loxodon-like beasts."
Physical Description[edit]
Mammothodon are massive, woolly ancient relatives of Loxodons. They typically stand between nine to eleven feet tall, with thick, shaggy pelts. Records show extinct Mammothodon grew to nearly twenty-five feet in height, but that era has since passed a long time ago. Unlike their plains-dwelling cousins, they have reduced ears to better acclimate to extreme cold weather. Their trunks typically measure around five feet - six feet long and are remarkable in their dexterity and sensitivity to smell, despite being attached to such large creatures. Their tusks typically measure between six and seven feet in length and curve outwards before bending back in, those pair of tusks are also highly valuable in the black market. The saying goes that the older generations of Mammothodon sported larger and more impressive tusks. Mammothodon abide strictly to herbivory - they have two sets of molars on both top and bottom jaws that are constantly replaced throughout their lifespan to cope with the strain of chewing plant matter. Their hands consist of a rather large palm with four short, stubby digits plus a thumb. As such, they are not very efficient at wielding dexterous weapons. Their feet consist of four nails, are round in shape, and have thick padding on their bottoms that cushion their steps - this padding can also detect low-pitched frequencies and allows the Mammothodon to communicate via Infrasound, which sits just below the human range of hearing. They sport a short, poofy tail that typically drapes out the back of whatever armor they wear, should they find any that fits their build. Eye color appears to be limited to warm brown, like Loxodon. Typical fur colors include grey, brown, and black, though white-fur individuals are known to exist, even being quite uncommon. The fur also can tell the location where the Mammothodon is from: Black ones tend to be in mountainous cold regions, Grey and White ones tend to be on Arctic regions, and brown ones tend to be on steppe biomes with grasslands and hills.
Racial Feature: Long Distance Loxo Calls[edit]
Mammothodon can communicate through infrasound, much like elephants. This enables them to speak to each other, common mammoths and elephants at distances up to 10 miles apart, as well as sense other Mammothodons from distances of over 100 miles away.
History[edit]
Mammothodon are nearly as old as the frigid taiga and artic they call home. Thousands of years ago they trekked the land in great numbers, with herds numbering over one hundred individuals commonly seen. On the continent of Thriskarin, they existed as far south as Mogun, though their range gradually receded at the end of the continent's great ice age. Too many folks they exist as a legend, as they have not been seen anywhere close to civilized society in hundreds of years.
Society[edit]
Mammothodon live in tribal units called herds, lead by a female leader, or matriarch, which is typically the oldest and wisest female in the group. Herds commonly number between ten and twenty individuals but it is not uncommon to see gatherings of hundreds of Mammothodon in the spring thaw. Their society is based on nomadic Clanhood: settling in place to place for some period of time, and then migrating to another one. That is one of the reasons most people do not encounter Mammothodons on journeys, besides that is not impossible. Most clans don't like strangers, as they are not willing to trust so easily. One of the greatest fears of their kind are hunters who keep searching for these herds to collect their expensive ivory to sell. Besides the herds and clan society, it is usual to see solitary Mammothodons, normally male ones, that for some reason left their lands and clans to live alone.

Usually names quite "primitive", easy to pronounce, not too long, and with double syllables.

Female: Puura, Iduui, Aluua, Juuli, Luuma, Tuurta, Aarhor, Leevah
Mammothodon Traits[edit]
An ancient lineage of huge, woolly nomadic mammothlike beasts. The ancestors of all modern Loxodon.
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength increased by 2, Constitution increase by 2.
Age. Mammothodon age most similar to humans, reaching adulthood in their late teens and living for a few centuries. Some matriarchs are known to have lived for 400 years.
Alignment. Mammothodon are strong-willed and stubborn, preferring to forge their own path. Most will avoid evil alignment.
Size. Mammothodon are colossal, on average stands 9 feet and weighs 700 pounds. Oftentimes standing over 10 feet tall, it is not unusual to see some over 12 feet tall. With their bulky frames and gigantic muscles, Mammothodon generally weighs 700 to 2000 pounds. Your size is Large.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 40 feet.
Keen Smell. Thanks to your sensitive trunk, you have advantage on Wisdom (Perception), Wisdom (Survival), and Intelligence (Investigation) checks that involve smell.
Trunk. You have a trunk that can hold items up to thirty-five pounds. It cannot be used to wield a weapon or use a shield, but can be used for a lantern or torch and perform simple actions.
Tusks. You have a pair of tusks, with which you are proficient. When you make an attack action, you may use your bonus action to attack with your tusks, dealing 1d6 + Strength modifier piercing damage on a hit.
Stand Aside. When you take the Dash action, you may move through an enemies space as though they weren't there if they are Medium or smaller.
Arctic Scout. You are perfectly acclimated to the cold regions of the world, you are considered proficient in the Wisdom (Survival) skill when in a snowy or arctic climate. If you are already proficient you may add double your proficiency bonus to the check, instead of your normal proficiency bonus.
eledict memomory. Mammothodon are said to never forget. Whenever you make a Intelligence (History) check related to an event that happened to you in the past, you are considered proficient in the History skill and add double your proficiency bonus to the check, instead of your normal proficiency bonus.
Woolly. Due to your thick pelt you’re acclimated to Extreme Cold, as described in chapter 5 of the Dungeon Master’s Guide.
Thick Hide. You have a thick pelt of skin and fat. Your unarmored Armor Class is 14 + Constitution modifier.
Tremendous Bulk. Non magical effects that push you back have their distance reduced by 10 feet.
Stampede. When you use Stand Aside to move through a space occupied by an enemy the same size or smaller than you, you may elect to trample them. If you move through an opponent's space, they must make an Athletics or Acrobatics check with a DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier. On a failed save, you may trample an enemy, dealing 1d6 bludgeoning damage and knocking them prone. An enemy takes no damage and is not knocked prone on a successful save. You may continue your movement after a trample, but you may not trample another enemy. Once you use this trait, you can not use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Languages. You can speak, read and write, Common, Giant, and one other language of your choice.
