Silver. Common trade good (metal), 10 gp per kilogram. Silver is a precious metal with a grayish-white color and highly reflective surface. Almost universally silver's market value as a trade good is fixed to be worth 10% as much as gold.
For most folk the primary use of silver is in silver coins, 10 of which are worth the value of a single gold coin. It is one of the most widely-recognized coin currencies, after gold coins and copper coins.
Aside from currency, the most renowned use of silver is in jewelry or for aesthetics, due largely to the particularly shiny appearance of this metal. Silver is known to be particularly reactive to certain forms of magic, such that many spells consume silver as a material component, and items with magical properties often incorporate silver into their design. Some adventurers coat arms and armor in silver (as silver coating) to better attack or defend against some magical creatures.
A silver ingot (a "silver bar") is a petty item worth 10 gp that weighs 1 kilogram.
