User:Guy/Delete
From D&D Wiki
Derived from discussions on Help_talk:Deletion_Policy.
“ | The sole significant contributor ("SSC") of any page can request its deletion using the deletion proposal process. As all content contributed to D&D Wiki is released under the GNU FDL 1.3 (unless otherwise specified), there is no legal requirement for this request to be fulfilled. This license permits anyone to copy or modify content contributed to this wiki, even if contributors retain some degree of legal ownership. Admins can nonetheless choose to fulfill this deletion request out of courtesy to the SSC if deletion appears to be uncontroversial. Fulfilling this request is an act of courtesy, not of obligation.
The SSC retains the privilege to make this request until another user makes a significant contribution to the page. As a general guideline, to be a "significant contribution," an edit must include changing game effects or story elements in a permanent way. Any edit that clearly took more than a few minutes of work should be considered a significant contribution. Any edit(s) deliberately marked as a minor edit is never considered a significant contribution, even if it meets preceding criteria. If when the SSC requests deletion the page meets other criteria for Speedy Deletion, an admin may speedily delete it, but otherwise the 14-day period normally afforded for Proposed Deletion should be retained. This period allows dissent to be discussed using the relevant article's talk page. This period also affords any interested party the time to download or otherwise store a copy for their personal use. If at the end of the 14-day period there is consensus that the page should not be deleted, only then should the {{delete}} be removed and the request be canceled. Any subsequent deletion requests can be more swiftly canceled by referencing the previous discussion of consensus. |

The preceding text is meant to replace Help:Deletion_Policy#Request_of_sole_significant_contributor. If this text is apt, I would appreciate it if an admin could make the necessary change to policy. If it is not apt, I would like to know what could be done to make it so. - Guy 08:46, 11 June 2019 (MDT)
I do not find the current quote apt and would oppose including it or being responsible for it. See talk page.- Guy 11:27, 12 June 2019 (MDT)- Natural language was used wherever possible, and excessive wiki markup was removed. The main practical difference is that it now clarifies when a deletion request should be "canceled."
- I doubt this would please everyone but it seems the best compromise I can create given the circumstances. - Guy 09:48, 26 June 2019 (MDT)
