Ok, discordians. Let's make a race with a MM score of 9 that is playable/balanced/not broken or however you want to call it.

Idea:
Ability Score Increase. Your An ability score was not entered for this template! score increases by 2 and your An ability score was not entered for this template! increases by 1.
Age.
Alignment.
Size. Speed. Your base walking speed is <speed> feet.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.

Score: 9
Idea: Psionics the race. Beings that left behind their mortal shell long ago, the X exist as humanoid molts of energy that travel through the astral plane in colonies.
Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 2 and your Dexterity increases by 1.
Age.
Alignment.
Size. X vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet. You have a hover speed of 30 feet.
Float. A X doesn't walk but floats just above the ground below them. You float a few feet above the ground at a speed of 30 feet. This allows you to ignore most forms of difficult terrain and makes you immune to being knocked prone. However, you can float no higher than 5 feet and when you are reduced to 0 hit points you stop hovering. In addition, due to the fact X hardly walk, preferring to float, your base walking speed is 25 feet.
Telekinetic. You know the mage hand cantrip, and the hand is invisible when you cast the cantrip with this trait.
Telekinesis. Upon reaching an Intelligence score of 19, you've learnt to you can focus your mind to a greater degree allowing for more powerful form of your races telekinesis for a limited time. As long as your Intelligence score is at least 19 you can cast the telekinesis spell once with this trait, requiring no material components, and you regain the ability to use this trait when you finish a long rest. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for this spell.
Telepath. You can communicate mentally with another creature that knows at least one language within a 60 foot radius. This creature doesn't need to share a language with you but unless they have telepathy themselves they can only receive and respond but can't initiate or terminate a telepathic conversation. You must be conscious to use this trait and cannot telepathically communicate with multiple creatures at once. In addition, you can perceive the content of any telepathic communication within range of your telepathy and cannot be surprised by a creature with any form of telepathy.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.

Burrower[edit]
Score: 9
Idea: Just a little guy that likes to live underground
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2.
Age.
Alignment.
Size. X vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 20 feet. You have a burrow speed of 30 feet.
Limited Tremorsense. You have a tremorsense range of 30 feet but are blind beyound this radius.
Trance. You don’t need to sleep. Instead, you meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
Natural Armor. When unarmored, your Armor Class is equal to 14 + your Dexterity modifier.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.

Idea: I think everyone here knows what I'm going to make haha. Anyway, they're like a fleshed out version of my songbird subrace for the aarakocra. :)
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma and Dexterity scores each increase by 2.
Age.
Alignment.
Size. <idk rn either lol>s are short and light creatures, being 3 to 4 feet tall and weighing 60 to 70 pounds. Your size is Small.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet.
Hover. Your wings move at such speeds that you can use them to effortlessly float a few feet above the ground. This allows you to ignore most forms of difficult terrain and makes you immune to being knocked prone. However, you can float no higher than 5 feet and when you are reduced to 0 hit points you stop hovering.
Labored Flight. You can use an action to gain a flying speed of 60 feet. You can continue using this flying speed after the start of your next turn by using this action consecutively. Otherwise, you must land or begin falling. To use this flying speed, you can’t be wearing medium or heavy armor.
Natural Performer. You're quite the performer, and you've been gifted with a beautiful voice. You are proficient in the Performance skill and may double your proficiency bonus when making Performance skill checks that involve singing.
Calming Magic. You know the friends cantrip. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for it.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Auran.
