Archosaurian (5e Race)[edit]

Physical Description[edit]

The Archosauria have the traits of crocodilians, which can be seen from the shape of their scaly tails. They also have long, pointed ears similar to that of Sarkaz, and some Archosaurians also have scales on their body.

In the Acahualla region of Sargon, Archosaurians are known as Tiacauh.

History[edit]

The jungle part of Sargon are home to Archosaurians and Pythians, most living as part of tribes who are yet to adopt modern ways but maintains contact with the outside world.

Society[edit]

Archosaurian society is based upon physical prowess and strength alone. disagreements and the election of leaders are typically settled through a martial duel, going until one competitor is beaten into submission and some cases, death. most Archosaurians live in tribes of various sizes in the swamplands of Acahualla. apart from physical strength, archosaurians have immense pride in their tails, though there are major disagreements that have sparked conflict since ancient times, which tail size is best, thick or skinny. many "scholars" still fiercely "debate" this question to this day.

Archosaurian Names[edit]

Names for both males and females are often simplistic. though its not unheard of for some to be influenced by foreign cultures and the outside world as awhole, choosing to adopt a more "civilized" name.

Male: Tamir, Murknak, Uzgz, Lurgob, Dulok

Female: Uromesh, Mogdrol, Agubu, Oran, Khatrn

Archosaurian Traits[edit]

Archosauria have an indomitable warriors spirit, rarely if ever shying away from a fight. nothing makes them happier then winning a fight. it should be noted that Archosaurians strongly dislike being taken care of by others, they strongly value independence.
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 2 and your Constitution score increases by 1. Your Strength score increases by +2 and your Constitution by +1.
Age. Archosaurians have a similar lifespan to other races and are typically mature at 18, with some late bloomers taking a few extra years to fully mature.
Alignment. many describe Archosaurians as Chaotic. while they seem to naturally gravitate to impulsive actions, most are good natured though there are those that are more wicked by nature.
Size. Archosaurian height isn't recorded vary well though from recorded examples of females, they can range from barely 4 foot 6 to a more respectable 5 foot 3 though there have been examples of females growing to about 5 foot 10. Males have been recorded to grow to as much as 6 foot 5! though there are plenty of examples of shorter males with the average height being 5 foot 10. a chief characteristic in shorter males is usually a shorter temper to match their stature and a greater feeling to prove oneself. Archosaurian size is Medium.
Speed. Base walking speed is 30ft, swimming speed is 40ft. Archosaurians are notably strong swimmers though they are usually observed lazily floating on the waters surface.
Resilient. Archosaurians are a hardy race, having lived in tandem with various poisonous and venomous flora and fauna respectively, they've developed a natural resistance to Poison
Robust. Living in the humid swamps, teeming with insects and various maladies, has allowed the Archosauria to develop a natural resistance to disease. they gain advantage on all rolls to resist disease.
Bite. Archosauria often use their mouths as weapons while in fights, using their teeth to make unarmed attacks with. 1d6 piercing damage
Claws. Archosaurians posses remarkable melee combat abilities. often employing their raw strength or claws to give them an advantage. they have sharp claws for tearing through flesh. their claws count as natural weapons and deal 1d4 slashing damage + your Strength modifier.
Tail. being the object of great pride in all Archosauria, its only natural that they use them in combat. you can make an attack with your tail against a Large or smaller creature. If the attack hits, it deals 1d6 + your Strength and the creature must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. The DC for this saving throw is equal to 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus.
Natural Armor. Even the most humble of Archosauria can boast of their natural armor. When you aren't wearing armor, your AC is equal to 12 + your Constitution modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield's benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.
Languages. Sargonian is the most common spoken language for archosauria though common is the second most spoken. literacy for archosauria is quite low typically, with few being able to read or write. it should be noted that if one is determined enough, literacy isnt out of the question though some may tease them for pursuing knowledge like this.
