Uruk[edit]

This is no rabble of mindless Orcs. These are the Uruk-hai, their armor thick and their shields broad...

Physical Description[edit]

Uruk-hai as they are portrayed in the films

Uruks are daunting creatures with great, big bodies, built to kill. They have powerful muscles rippling under a rather ugly appearance of dark, scaly skin. They have long, dark hair, golden slanted eyes and a mouthful of sharp teeth below a smashed nose. Many of them wear war paints of red or white on their faces. All uruks are equipped as warriors, and so will always be seen wearing some sort of armor, strapped and armed to the teeth with weapons. Uruks are a race of exclusively male creatures.

History[edit]

It is said uruks were bred and created rather than born naturally. They originate from the earth like maggots, in an undisclosed womb of mud under the world above. It is said this is the fate of elves who are corrupted by dark magic. The first uruks were recognized to have potential by the mad king, who took them and began to selectively breed and groom them to have the cunning of goblins, as well as the strength of orcs. The king's methods were replicated by his servant, a dark wizard, who mass-produced these creatures as the greater echelons of an army of orcs and other foul creatures.

Personality[edit]

Being bred with malicious intentions, uruks are nonexistent outside the domain of their creator. They exist solely as guards and pieces of a war machine. That being said, they are by no means robots. They are entirely capable of being sadistic and showing glee at the suffering of their enemies. Implanted with the aggressive drive of an orc, they are belligerent and unafraid to charge at enemies bigger than themselves. The goblin portion of them grants some brain to the brawn. Uruks are extremely vindictive and able to make complex tactics of battle, including formations and traps for enemies in advance.

Uruk Names[edit]

Uruks, being exclusively male, only have one gendered naming convention. In general, their names are very similar to that of orcs.
