Twyla, The Reaper[edit]

Born of the Void, Twyla is a Greater Goddess of Death. Twyla often manifests herself as a human female, possessed of ivory white skin and raven black hair, with piercing crystal blue eyes, enshrouded in a dark hooded cloak, carrying Soul Reaper. Alternatively, she also manifests as a human skeleton similarly garbed much like a version of the grim reaper. She has been given power over life and death. While she performs the task reaping of souls she does not rule over them in an afterlife, instead Twyla acts as a ferryman to the afterlife where ever that may be. When she grows bored Twyla speaks from the darkness of people's hearts and her persuasive call has been known to push people who are on the edge into murder. Surprisingly enough however Twyla doesn't condone murder and anyone weak-willed enough to allow themselves to be manipulated soon joins the ranks of the dead themselves. She despises necromancers as they can impede the natural progression of life and death.

Dogma[edit]

Life and Death are but part of a cycle. No being, no matter how powerful, is immune to the effects of Life and Death. All entities sooner or later must feel Twyla's Embrace, in some form or other.

Clergy and Temples[edit]

Twyla has a temple in the heart of Twilight City. Clerics of Twyla prayed for their spells at midnight at the height of her power. Many clerics of Twila spent their days in research, seeking to understand and expand the faith's collective knowledge of life and death. The clergy has many duties, most involve tending to the last wishes of the dying and providing burial services to those who die alone. Their most important task is the destruction of undeath in all its various forms as it was an affront to Twyla. Servants of Twyla are usually clad in somber black vestments and brandished scythes.

Pantheon[edit]

Twyla has been created to be used in the Shifting Sea Campaign. DM's may feel free to use this in their campaigns.
