Twilight Warrior[edit]

Niaran had almost finished safely sneaking away from the wizard, when he nearly bumped into a warrior in heavy armor. He looked closely at the armor and noticed that the stars were flickering almost as if the sky itself was set into the armor. Niaran jumped backward and drew his dagger pointing it at the warrior menacingly.

The warrior turned, ignoring Niaran, and looked up at the sky. He looked back at Niaran and said calmly "you should pay more attention when you are being hunted". Niaran looked up and saw nothing. He fumbled through his bag and found his goggles of true seeing and looked again. Up in the sky about 200 feet away and flying toward them was a (clearly invisible) Red Dragon!

Niaran bolted, and saw the warrior just stand there as the dragon flew in to kill him. The stars in the sky lit up bright, illuminating the field like it was day, and the warrior hit the dragon hard with his sword, chipping off armor from its face plating. Niaran never found out the way that fight ended, but would never forget how bright those stars became as the warrior channeled his power.

Through focus under the stars, the Twilight Warriors learn to channel the energies of the night sky to give them power.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Twilight Warrior:

Weapon and Armour Proficiency: Twilight Warrior gain no proficiency with weapons or armour.

Spellcasting: When a Twilight Warrior becomes level 2, or 4, the character gains new spells per day as if she had also gained a level in a single arcane spellcasting class she has. The Twilight Warrior does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained.

Twilight Imbuing: Through the power of the night sky, the Twilight Warrior can empower her items to have the capability for greater power. She may designate one item per Twilight Warrior level as having Twilight Attunement.

A creation with the Twilight Attunement property can gain a temporary bonus that lasts 2 weeks by performing a ritual under either a new moon (called the Star Ritual), or a full moon (called the Lunar Ritual). When a Twilight Warrior performs this ritual, only they may gain the benefits of the item involved.

A Twilight warrior can make a total of 2 times her class level in enhancements, to a maximum of 1 enhancement per item per odd-class level she has gained.

Weapons, Armor, and Shields:

Lunar Ritual: Item gains a +1 enhancement bonus or has its material changed to a special material of the Twilight warrior's choice.

Star Ritual: Item gains an equivalent ability to a +1 enhancement bonus (in gold value or the ability enhancement to gold cost). If multiple enhancements on a weapon are combined, multiple abilities can be gained, or a larger ability (that costs +2 or +3 as an enhancement bonus).

Charged Items:

Lunar Ritual: Item gains temporary charges equal to the Twilight Warrior level. These charges are used first when activating the item and disappear after the 2 weeks.

Star Ritual: Item gains a caster level bonus equal to the Twilight Warrior level. This enhancement can only be chosen once.

Wondrous Items:

Lunar Ritual: If item has uses per day, increase that amount by 1. Otherwise, choose a wondrous item worth half the amount of this item that has uses per day. The use-activated abilities of that item are now able to be activated from the item with the Twilight Attunement property.

Star Ritual: If the item provides a constant benefit, increase the numeric effects of that benefit by one half if it does not add to primary statistics or by 1 if it does. If it does not provide a constant benefit, choose a wondrous item worth half the amount of this item. The constant benefit of that item are now applied to the item with the Twilight Attunement property.

Lunar Strike: From secrets learned from the moon, the Twilight Warrior may strike opponents with a bright strike. As a standard action, the Twilight Warrior may make a touch attack with a weapon that has the Twilight Attunement property. If the attack hits, it deals the normal weapon damage and it casts Dispel Magic on the target with caster level of 5 + Twilight Warrior level. If done under the night sky, the ability also does an extra 1d6 cold damage. This ability is usable 3 times per day.

Star Shielding: The Twilight Warrior has gained the power of the stars to seem farther than she actually is. If the Twilight Warrior is wearing armor or using a shield with the Twilight Attunement property, she counts as twice the distance away from opponents for all ranged attacks and single target spells.

Star Focus: The Twilight Warrior can call on the stars to provide light. If the Twilight Warrior is wearing a wondrous item with the Twilight Attunement property, she may cast the daylight spell 2 times per day with a caster level equal to her Twilight Warrior level. If done under the night sky, all creatures in the radius must succeed at a fortitude save DC 18 or be blinded for 1 round.

Lunar Beam: From secrets learned from the moon, the Twilight Warrior may strike opponents with a bright beam. As a standard action, the Twilight Warrior may make a ranged touch attack (up to 60 feet away) when holding a weapon that has the Twilight Attunement property. If the attack hits, it deals the normal weapon damage and it casts Dispel Magic on the target with caster level of 5 + Twilight Warrior level. If done under the night sky, the ability also does an extra 3d6 cold damage. This ability is usable once per day.
