Editing this Prestige class for use in our campaign.

Titan Blade[edit]

The Titan Blade is obsessed with mastering the use of weapons far bigger than he. With much practice he has turned what others found awkward and unwieldy into weapons of unparalleled might. By devoting himself to the mastery of his weapon, a Titan Blade is able to utilize it not only for powerful strikes, but also a reach of equal proportions. With unique combat techniques and superior destructive power, the Titan Blade is truly a force to be reckoned with.

Becoming a Titan Blade[edit]

Those who are interested in wielding enormous weapons, and dealing tremendous amounts of melee damage tend toward this class. Most often Fighters pursue this class, but Barbarians are also good candidates. Strength and Constitution are both vital, both for their physical advantages and for the use of the Titan Blade's Titanic Smite and Titanic Finisher techniques.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Titan Blade.

Titanic Reach: When wielding a Slashing or Bludgeoning weapon you have Weapon Focus with, increase your reach by 5 feet for each size category larger than you the weapon is. This does not apply to Double weapons, or those that normally have reach.

Titanic Wielding I: Weapons upto two size categories larger than you to which Titanic Reach applies may be wielded as a two-handed weapon of your size without penalty.

Titanic Wielding II: Weapons upto three size categories larger than you to which Titanic Reach applies may be wielded as a two-handed weapon of your size without penalty.

Titanic Wielding III: Weapons upto four size categories larger than you to which Titanic Reach applies may be wielded as a two-handed weapon of your size without penalty.

Titanic Wielding IV: Weapons upto five size categories larger than you to which Titanic Reach applies may be wielded as a two-handed weapon of your size without penalty.

Great Swing: (Ex): As a Full-round action you may perform a single melee attack in a line equal to your Titanic Reach while using a Titanic Reach weapon in two hands. For example, if the Titan Blade has 10 foot reach, he may make a single melee attack roll and apply it against each defender in a 10 foot line.

Walls and similar objects can block a Great Swing. Start by affecting the closest target, then moving farther back until the end of your reach, or an obstruction occurs, whichever comes first. You may attempt to Sunder an obstruction, then continue your Great Swing if successful.

If you drop one of your foes with a Great Swing, you may make a Cleave attack normally, but only once per swing, even if you drop more than one foe.

Titanic Smite: (Su): Using a Titanic Reach weapon, a you may attempt to smite a target, dealing normal weapon damage plus twice your Constitution modifier, with a doubled critical hit range. You may use this a number of times per day equal to your Constitution modifier.

Weapon Familiarity: You may apply a bonus equal to your Titan Blade class level to Craft checks made to create or repair Titanic Reach weapons.

Improved Power Attack: Beginning at 4th level, a titan blade deals +50% the normal damage from her use of the Power Attack feat. In other words, when using the Power Attack feat, a titan blade wielding a two-handed weapon gains a +3 bonus on damage rolls (instead of a +2 bonus) for each —1 penalty she applies to her attack rolls.

Improved Great Swing: (Ex): You may use a Great Swing as a Standard action, rather than a Full-round action. This may allow you to perform more than one Great Swing in a Full-round attack action.

Titanic Strike: When wielding a Titanic Reach weapon in 2 hands, you may add 2 times your strength modifier to the damage roll, instead of the normal 1-1/2 times.

Supreme Cleave: You may take a 5-foot step between attacks when using the Cleave, or Great Cleave Feat. You are still limited to one such adjustment per round, so you cannot use this ability during a round in which you have already taken a 5-foot step.

Great Cleave: As the Feat from the D&D 3.5 player's handbook.

Massive Swing: (Ex): As a Full-round action, you may make a single Great Swing that targets all within your Titanic Reach. Obstructions still interfere, but may be Sundered as normal; pick an initial attack direction, and continue either clockwise or counterclockwise until you reach an obstruction. You may attempt to Sunder an obstruction, then continue your Massive Swing if successful.

Supreme Power Attack: A 9th-level titan blade deals +100% the normal damage from her use of the Power Attack feat with Titanic Reach weapons. In other words, when using the Power Attack feat, a titan blade wielding a two-handed Titanic Reach weapon gains a +4 bonus on damage rolls (instead of a +2 bonus) for each —1 penalty she applies to her attack rolls.

Titanic Finisher: (Su): As a full round action you may perform a Titanic Finisher, a devastating final blow, meant only to kill. To perform a Titanic Finisher you must be wielding a Titanic Reach weapon two-handed. If using a Slashing weapon, you may perform Sky Reaver, if using a Bludgeoning weapon, you may perform Meteor Strike. A Titanic Finisher can be used a number of times per day equal to your Constitution modifier.

Make a single melee attack roll, on a successful hit your target must make a Fortitude save (DC = 10 + character level + 2x your Strength modifier) or be obliterated. If successful the target instead takes 30d6 Sonic damage in addition to normal weapon damage. Target Adjacent to the original Target Must pass a Reflex save (DC = 10 + character level + 2x your Strength modifier) Or take Full damage.

Campaign Information[edit]

Playing a Titan Blade[edit]

Combat: A Titan Blade is always on the front line, and always first into battle.

Advancement: Pursuing the Weapon Focus, and Specialization with a chosen Titanic Reach weapon is always useful; the Melee Weapon Mastery Feat can greatly expand the variety of weapons usable as Titanic Reach weapons. Leap Attack is also a good option due to the Jump, and Power Attack requirement needed to be a Titan Blade.

Resources: While highly respected, and feared for their prowess in battle, Titan Blades do not belong to a specific group.

Titan Blade's in the World[edit]

Being able to lift a weapon like this is nothing special - it is the skill I wield it with it that separates me from an ogre.

When a talented, driven warrior lacks access to formal training, he may turn to unconventional means of improving his combat prowess - Titan Blades are sometimes the result. Titan Blades are rare, occurring with no regularity - few individuals have the physical strength to pursue this path, and fewer still find themselves in situations where more standard armaments are insufficient for their needs.

NPC Reactions: NPCs who are unfamiliar with Titan Blades are often incredulous at the size of the Titan Blade's weapons, viewing them as preposterous and impractical - veteran combatants may attempt to provoke a Titan Blade, believing that such massive weapons are merely for show, and unusable in real battle. This disbelief turns fear and respect in equal parts once an NPC becomes acquainted with the Titan Blade's raw physical power. Rumors of Titan Blades spread through towns like wildfire, as the sheer spectacle of a man wielding a weapon twice his size makes for good gossip.

Titan Blade Lore[edit]
