Throwing Knife (5e Equipment)

Stub Logo.png This page is incomplete and/or lacking flavor. Reason: Quick Throw isn't a quality of the weapon, it's a quality of training. You don't add your proficiency bonus to damage rolls. For some reason, this weighs the same as a longsword. A dart would work just fine for this. 15:51, 8 September 2024 (MDT)

Throwing Knife

Simple Ranged Weapons
Weapon Cost Damage Weight Properties
Throwing Knife 1 sp 1 piercing ½ lb. Light, special, thrown (range 30/60)

This sort of "knife" is little more than a sharpened sliver of metal glued to a wooden handle. Throwing knives are crudely made, but they are quite cheap to make and can still allow a layman to deal some damage from a distance.

Quick Throw. Throwing knives can be thrown with great speed if one is trained in doing so. If you are proficient, you can use your bonus action to take the Attack action with throwing knives in addition to your normal action. You cannot add your proficiency bonus to your attack rolls for any attacks made using a bonus action in this way.
