Thorny Ki (5e Feat)
From D&D Wiki
Thorny Ki
Prerequisites: Wisdom 13 or Higher
Too much time using cacti as punching bags has given you a great appreciation for the pain pointy plants can deal, so you’ve learned to channel your own power in such a way as to create prickly sprouts.
- Your ki point maximum increases by 1. If you have no levels in monk, your ki points will recharge whenever you complete a short or long rest.
- You may cast the Thorn Whip cantrip.
- You may expend 1 ki point to cast the spell Ensnaring Strike. You may expend 1 additional ki point to give all targets disadvantage on the first Strength saving throw.
- You may expend 1 ki point to cast the spell Entangle. You may expend 1 additional ki point to extend the spell’s duration by 1 minute.
- The spell casting score used for all these spells is Wisdom.
In addition, you may manifest your mastery over nature in more minor ways:
- If terrain is difficult due to plant overgrowth, you may treat it as normal terrain.
- While grappled, you deal 1d4 Piercing damage to your grappler each turn.
- You have resistance to Piercing damage if caused by plants or plant creatures.
