The Creator (5e Subclass)

The Creator[edit]
Warlock Subclass
A half-elf stands before a pack of snarling gnolls, hyenas nipping at their heels. Grinning, he raises his hands before swishing them down to point at the stones beneath his feet. Hesitantly, they rose to stand before him, holding stone weapons. They hurtled at the gnolls, an incessant grinding noise coming from their charge.
A dwarf sits before a forge, hot, glowing sparks swirling in the air around her. Lying amid the coals all around her were 4 weapons of various types, with magical hammers pounding repeatedly on their cherry-red blades.
A fire genasi sits on a boulder, idly toying with the cuff on his sleeve. With a negligent wave of his hand, all the grass around him grows to 6 feet tall. The grass obscures his form as he lays back studying the night sky above him.
Swearing your service to the Creator is not as grim as it would be to swear to other patrons. The power to create is a peaceful thing, but when placed in the wrong hands it can be deadly. The service that the Creator brings to the world is to keep the balance in check; where one man might create a weapon of war, another might create a toy for a child. How you use your abilities is up to you, but in service of the Creator anything could happen.

Warlock Level | Additional Spells |
---|---|

2nd | Alter Self, Enlarge/Reduce |
3rd | Tiny Servant, Plant Growth |
4th | Fabricate, Polymorph |
5th | Animate Objects, Creation |
- Soul of Creation
Starting at 1st level, you gain proficiency with one type of artisan’s tools (your choice). Using an action, you let the power of creation infuse your body. You may choose an object that is made of the same materials i.e wood, metal, stone as something you possess, and you may create or destroy something that is size Small or lower. The material used to invoke this is used up and this feature cannot be used again until your next long rest.
- Double Creation
Starting at 6th level, whenever you cast a spell with the creation tag or use one of your class features (excepting this one) the power of creation surges, causing that affect to create twice as many items, if it has a material cost, use the same amount of material as normal and to double the duration if it has one.
- Disassemble
Starting at 10th level, as a reaction when you or a creature within 30 feet is hit by an attack made with a weapon, you are able to disassemble that weapon into its raw materials. The attack's damage is reduced to 0, and the weapon or projectile used on the attack is destroyed. The disassembled raw materials float towards you, and you gain the price of the disassembled object in raw materials, allowing you to craft that object later without spending gold.
If the weapon or projectile used is magical, you must succeed on a Charisma check against a DC depending on the rarity: 11 (common), 13 (uncommon), 15 (rare), 17 (very rare), 19 (legendary). Artifacts can't be disassembled.
Once you use this feature, you can't do it again until you finish a short or a long rest.
Storm of Creation Starting at 14th level, when at an artisan’s station i.e. forge, carpenter’s bench and possessing the tools for that station, you may rapidly create a number or items equal to a third of your warlock level (rounded down). These items must fit within these guidelines: - Can possess minor magical effects that are equal in proportion to a cantrip, up to DM discretion. - They cannot be created at a station that does not apply to the item, i.e. weapons at a forge, door at a carpenter’s bench. - They must be able to be applied to a stat block within the game. - You can change qualities within reason, you could change a glaive to run off of Dexterity, but you could not make plate armour light, if decided by the DM. - You can create tools. - You cannot create items that are used in magical spells and effects. The use of this feature takes 2 hours. This feature cannot be used again for the next week.
