The Apprentice

Prerequisites: Intelligence 13 or higher
You are an arcane initiate, learning the basics of spellcasting. You gain the following benefits:

  • You gain proficiency in the Arcana skill. If you’re already proficient, your proficiency bonus is doubled for checks you make with it.
  • You gain an apprentice spellbook, containing one 1st-level spells from the wizard spell list. When you find a wizard spell of 1st level, you can add it to your spellbook, by spending 2 hours and 50 gp in specially prepared paper and and fine ink.
  • You can prepare up to two spells written on your spellbook, when you finish a long rest. You must spend 1 minute per spell you want to prepare.
  • You gain one 1st-level spell slot, which you can only use to cast the spells prepared on your apprentice spellbook. You regain your spell slot when you finish a long rest.
