Tattoo Thaumaturge

Prerequisites: Proficiency in Arcana and Painter’s Supplies.
Unsatisfied with drawing on parchment and canvases, you’ve learned to transfer your works of magical art right on to living skin with surprising results.

  • Tattoos may not be applied to Constructs, Dragons, or Oozes.
  • During a short or long rest, you may use Painter’s Supplies and 1gp worth of ingredients to inscribe a moving tattoo onto a friendly creature. Once finished, you may set the tattoo to perpetually move at any speed you wish across the recipient’s dermis, such a snake slithering across their limbs or a spiral spinning in place. You can start, stop, or remove the tattoo later by touching it for 1 minute.
  • Learn the Color Spray spell. You can cast it without a spell slot a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
  • During a short or long rest, you may use Painter’s Supplies and 1gp worth of ingredients to inscribe a magic rune upon a friendly creature, letting them cast a 1st-level spell once per long rest. The spell’s spellcasting ability is yours. You may only apply a number of these runic tattoos equal to your proficiency bonus and no more than one may be applied to a single being at a time. You may remove the tattoo later by touching it for 1 minute.
  • You may store non-living, nonmagical items on your body as tattoos you may retrieve by pressing on them. The total weight of the items stored must be pounds equal to or less than your Intelligence modifier + your proficiency bonus and none can measure more than 5ft^3. While stored, the item(s) weigh 0lb. If you are killed, the tattoos will revert to their material form.
