Tarnished[edit]

Physical Description[edit]

Tarnished Resemble Humans And are humanoid in stature yet they wear all different types of armour sets giving all tarnished unique sets and quirks.

History[edit]

The Tarnished are individuals who lost the grace of the Erdtree and were consequently banished from the Lands Between by Queen Marika the Eternal. Following the breaking of the Elden Ring, the Tarnished were beckoned by lost grace, fragmentary divine light from the Erdtree, to return.

Society[edit]

The Lands Between (狭間の地, Hazama no Chi) are a vast domain ruled by Queen Marika the Eternal and the setting of Elden Ring.

It is blessed by the Elden Ring and the Erdtree, and so too are many of the people throughout the lands. The constituent lands include five vast areas each ruled by a demigod figure.

Tarnished Traits[edit]

A Race Of Humanoids From the lands between Touched by Grace
Ability Score Increase. Increase any ability score by 1.
Age. Tarnished Typically do not age however they begin the process of aging if removed from their grace (This can be done at the DM'S discretion)
Alignment. Any.
Size. Tarnished can have different heights.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30
Dodge Roll. When you are about to be hit by an attack that either targets you or hits an AOE around you, you can use your reaction giving the attacker disadvantage on a roll to hit against you or if the attack is an AOE you can give yourself advantage on saving throw against it, when you perform this you also move 10 ft North, south, east, or west, of your decision performing a rolling dodge motion when succeeding, this roll movement does not provoke opportunity. This can be used up to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Bloody Finger Or Blue Cipher Ring. (At Your GM's Discretion) Once Per Long Rest in your Campaign You Can use A Bloody Finger To invade another campaign setting you are apart of with this Character, your characters appearance will turn completely red to signify to the other characters that you are an Invader (Upon Sight the players know you are a malicious force that can not be conversed with and know you have hostile intent towards them) if you are defeated by the party you are invading you will immediately start to vanish dropping all previously earned gold you had in that world in front of your foes however if you are able to defeat that party you are able to gain a large sum of gold from them(GM's Decision) Note that if you do manage to beat another campaigns party in this way they wont all just die ending the campaign they will just all be knocked unconscious on 1 hp.

Evidently you can also instead choose to use your Blue Cipher Ring once per Long Rest to become a hunter this allows you to be pulled into another campaign setting you are apart of with this character(At Your GM's Discretion), your characters appearance will turn completely blue to signify to others than you are a Hunter (Upon Sight the players will know you are not a malicious entity and are in fact there to support them in their time of need however you will still be unable to converse with them) If you are defeated by the enemies of the party you are trying to help you will vanish immediately dropping all previously earned gold you had in that world in front of your foes however if you are able to defeats that parties enemies you are able to gain a large sum of gold from them(GM's Decision).
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Celestial.
Subrace. Choose a subrace listed below.

Tarnished Of Magic[edit]

Tarnished Of Magic are known to follow the teaching of Raw Magic Power taught by Raya Lucaria

Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 2.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Gifted Scholar. You use less gold when learning spells off scrolls, You can also learn spells off magical items that have been embedded with them if given long enough time with said magical item (GM'S Decision).
Glintblade Phalanx. 4 Spectral swords appear above the users head this costs an action to cast, the round after casted every 1 round for four rounds 1 blade shoots from the sky and rolls to hit the enemy you're targeting as a free action dealing 1d10 magic damage on hit and nothing on a miss this damage increases by a d10 every 4 levels. (Use Intelligence to attack) range = 30 feet.

Tarnished Of Omen[edit]

Omens are known to be outcasts in the lands between being treated like garbage wherever they'd travel

Ability Score Increase. Your Strength and Dexterity score increase by 1.
Size. Your size is Medium, comparable to a tall human.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Omen's Shriek. You Release a Dreadful Screech as a bonus action numbing all nearby creatures senses allowing you to hit more easily, You gain advantage on your next roll to hit against your target and the critical maximum temporarily drops from 20 to 18 for this round. you can only use this feature once per long rest and twice at level 9 and 3 times at level 18
Omen Bairn. You Yell releasing a massive entourage of ghost-like projectiles that chase down a target, on hit the target must make a Wisdom Save DC = 10 + Your Proficiency + Wisdom on a fail they take 3d8 and are Afflicted with the Omen Curse this can be used once per short rest.
Omen's Curse. Upon interaction with a creature whether that be through hitting them with a roll to hit or touching them outside of combat you can choose to inflict them with the omen curse as a free action, this omen curse only takes effect when the target dies and will not take effect sooner by any means, if you are knocked out or killed before the enemy dies the curse will disappear from said target. When someone with the omen curse dies (Time Of Death should be noted down either by player or DM) the next day at there exact time of death on the previous day they will be revived from the dead but still suffering from the wounds that they had previously had inflicted upon them (these wounds cannot be healed by any means), then the day after they were revived at the exact time they died on the initial day they will die again immediately and the cycle will continue in a continuous loop of death and revival. Note: The omen curse can be removed by things like remove curse if the creature infected with the curse has not already died and revived.

Tarnished Of Death Blight[edit]

Tarnished Of Death Blight are renowned followers of those who live in Death and follow the ways of Godwyn a Demigod who lives in Death

Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 2.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Mist Of Death. As an Action You create a black and gold mist within a 35 foot sphere any enemies who enter must roll a wisdom save DC= 10 + Proficiency bonus + Wisdom taking no damage on a success or taking 2d6 necrotic damage on a fail, they also must roll for each round they are within it, (Does not effect allies or the caster).
Ancient Death Rancor. As an Action Release a massive entourage of ghost-like skull projectiles that chase down a target, on hit the target must make a Wisdom Save DC = 10 + Your Proficiency + Wisdom on a fail they take 3d8 necrotic damage furthermore any enemy within 5ft of the ally hit by this must also roll a wisdom save or take 1d8 necrotic damage from the explosion of the skulls, this can be used once per short rest.
Skelly Bois. As an action You choose a target you can see within 50 feet of you and you summon 3 spectral skeletons around them these skeletons then all swing down on the target (Using your base weapon roll to hit) on success they deal 1d8 Slashing damage each and disappear straight after, on a miss they just disappear straight after. This can only be used once per short rest.

Tarnished Of Trades[edit]

Tarnished Of Trades are well versed in the trading establishment although don't trust them too much or you could end up in a ditch.

Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2, and your Dexterity increases by 1.
Size. Your size is Medium, consirable tall.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Traders Charm. Being a tarnished well versed in the trading business you are quite the schemer when it comes to bartering, When trying to barter with someone you gain advantage on persuasion checks against them whilst trying to barter the price.
Traders Cheats. Having been in the trading business all your life you have picked up some skills and cheats, Once per short rest when falling from a height you can use your reaction to cast feather fall on yourself without the need for a spell slot (this ignores the falling is instantaneous rule). use this wisely like checking if a person you just kicked down a crevice is still alive.
Traders Folly. you can choose ONE of the traits below:

  • You start with any uncommon item.
  • You start with extra 200GP.

Tarnished Of Spirits[edit]

Tarnished Of Spirits are tarnished who are InTouch with spirit summons allowing them to summon in a number of Spirit ashes.

Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 1, and your Constitution increases by 1.
Size. Your size is Small.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Spirit Pots. as a bonus action With your Spirit bell(You obtain spirit bell if you pick this subrace) you summon in 2 humanoid pots (They have arms and legs but have the body of a pot) these pots have 30 movement speed and 13 AC and 12 HP, HP increases by 3 every 4 levels, they attack with unarmed strikes that deal 1d8 bludgeoning on hits no additional damage (they use your modifier to hit)on defeat they disappear instantaneously and cannot be summoned again until a short rest. It follows commands from the summoner verbal or mental your choice.
Mimic Tear. as a bonus action With your Spirit Bell(You obtain spirit bell if you pick this subrace) you summon in an ooze, that ooze then transforms into a perfect copy of you (Indistinguishable from you in every way apart from the fact it looks spiritual and you do not) this mimic uses all of your stats, spells, armours, weapons and HPS. on defeat they disappear instantaneously and cannot be summoned again until a long rest. It follows commands from the summoner verbal or mental your choice. Note: the jars and the mimic cannot be summoned together if you summon in one spirit ashes the other will then disappear and vice versa.

Tarnished Of Knowledge[edit]

Tarnished Of Knowledge are Tarnished who have seen it all and know it all through the power of the golden order.

Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 2.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
The All Knowing. As someone who has known and seen it all you are able to pick 1 trait off any of the other Subraces listed on this race.
Knowledge of the gods. Whenever you need to make a history check you can do so with advantage furthermore, as a free action you can link telepathically to a creature within 10 feet and also give them advantage on the history check. you can only use this twice per short rest
Knowledge of Sharing. Before initiative to any fight, you may as a free action give a speech to the enemies before the fight begins and it must follow these words exactly "Ahh, I knew you'd come. To stand before the Elden Ring. To become Elden Lord. What a sad state of affairs. I commend your spirit, but alas, none shall take the throne. Queen Marika has high hopes for us. That we continue to struggle. Unto eternity." furthermore if you're within a campaign setting that involves the things spoken about in this speech your enemies will instantly know what you are talking about however, if you're in a campaign setting that does not involve theses things you have spoken about in your speech, the enemies will pass off your speech as crazy rambling.

Tarnished Warrior[edit]

Tarnished Warriors are tarnished who follow the path of their fathers alter ego Hoarah Loux

Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 2.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 35 feet.
Fathers EarthShaker. You Slam The ground with all your might producing a massive shockwave knocking back and damaging your foes. On hit every enemy within a 40 feet sphere must make a Strength saving throw DC = 10 + Proficiency bonus + Strength on a fail enemies take 2d8 thunder damage and are knocked prone. you can only use this once per short rest.
Slam Of the Gods. Twice Per long rest as an action you may move to a creature that is within 10 feet of you and challenge them to a contest of strength they use athletics or acrobatics you use athletics, if you lose nothing happens however if you succeed you perform a jump whilst still having hold of the enemy and slam them to the ground from 20 feet out of the sky, on landing they take 2d6 falling damage and are knocked prone and you take no falling damage from this ability and are not knocked prone.
Rage. In battle, you fight with primal ferocity. On your turn, you can enter a rage as a bonus action ends after a 2 rounds. While raging, you gain the following benefits: You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. after your rage ends you cannot use this feature again until you finish a short rest.

Tarnished Of Ice[edit]

Tarnished Of Ice are scholars of ice magic that primarily reside at the roundtable hold

Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 2
Size. Your size is Medium, consirable small.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Glintstone Icecrag. You shoot an ice projectile at a target on hit the enemy must make a intelligence save DC= 10 + Proficieny Bonus + Intelligence. On fail they take 2d4 cold damage and are Petrified until your next turn. this can only be used once per short rest.
The Dark Moon. You ascend into the air 5 feet pulling your ice power into yourself forming the shape of a Dark moon, you shoot off the dark moon dealing 3d8 cold damage to enemies in its path Range = 5 Wide by 10 foot line. this can only be used once per long rest.

Tarnished Of Faith[edit]

Tarnished Of Faith are the most elite followers of the golden order.

Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 2.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Golden Vow. As an Action you can cast golden vow empowering you and your allies, you and allies effected by this receive a die of 1d6 and can apply it to any of their next rolls after receiving this whether that be attacks, ability checks etc... You can only use this ability twice per long rest. to be affected by this allies need to be at least within 5 feet of the caster.
Urgent Heal. As a Bonus action you can cast Urgent heal healing you and your allies around you, you and your allies that are within 10 ft of you feel a surge of golden energy healing everyone within this 10ft radius by 2d6.

Tarnished Of Destined Death[edit]

Tarnished Who Possess Destined Death

Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 2.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
The Black Blade. You imbue your power with destined shooting it off as a sword slash comprised of light, This attack deals 2d8 necrotic damage and then reduces the targets HP Maximum by 10% (Not Stackable) and has a range of 15 feet. this can only be used once per short or long rest.
Destined Death. Set free the remnants of Destined Death, plunging your weapon into the ground to summon a myriad of blade slashes around your area, this attack covers a 20 ft sphere from the user, enemies caught in it must make a wisdom save DC= 10 + Proficiency bonus + Wisdom on fail they take 3d6 necrotic damage and then lose 15% their HP Maximum (Not Stackable) this can only be used once per long rest.

Tarnished Of Gravity[edit]

Tarnished Who learned Magic with control over Gravity itself

Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 2.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet. You also gain a flying speed of 30 feet.
Rock Sling. Summon 2 Rocks from the earth and send them towards your foes, on Hit your enemy takes 2d6 Bludgeoning Damage. this has a range of 40 feet and can only be used twice per long rest.
Meteorite. You Open portals out in space that then open up on the battlefield pulling 3 small meteors in with the gravitational pull and send them flying towards your enemies, enemies targeted by this attack take 2d8 bludgeoning damage and 1d6 fire damage any additional enemies within 5 feet of the primary target take 1d4 bludgeoning damage as well if this attack were to break their AC also, Range = 20 feet and can only be used once per long rest.

Tarnished Of Rot[edit]

Tarnished Who is infected with the cursed rot

Ability Score Increase. Your Wisdom score increases by 2.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Rot Breath. You're infected by the accursed rot, you spew out rot breath in a 15 foot cone, if hit creatures within your radius must make a Wisdom save DC = 10 + Wisdom + Proficiency bonus on a fail they take 2d8 rot damage and are infected by scarlet rot (scarlet rot effect = creature effected takes 1d8 rot damage each round for 21 seconds which is 4 rounds) can only be used once per long rest.
Scarlet Aeonia. You rise into the sky by 20 feet and then slam down to the ground in an area you can see within 10 feet of u(ignores fall damage with this ability for the initial 20 feet) with an orange shaped unbloomed flower around you this flower then blooms dealing 3d6 Rot damage to all within a range of a 30 foot circle who fail a DC = 10 + Wisdom + Proficiency bonus Wisdom save and deals half damage on a successful save. This AOE then lingers for 12 seconds and anyone who ends there turn within the 30 foot circle will take 1d8 rot damage and are also afflicted with the scarlet rot effect. (scarlet rot effect = creature effected takes 1d8 rot damage each round for 21 seconds which is 4 rounds) this can only be used once per long rest.

Tarnished Of Blood[edit]

Tarnished Follower of the Formless Mother

Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Flies Of Blood. You summon Forth a sphere of blood flies that deal bleed damage, range = 30 feet in sight, the creature targeted by this attack must make a DC = 10 + Dexterity + proficiency or take 2d6 bleed damage and half on a success. can be used twice per long rest
Blood Slashes. Unleash the Blood Mothers Power, Slash the area around you with blood slashes, this attack covers a 20 ft sphere from the user, enemies caught in it must make Dexterity a save DC= 10 + Proficiency bonus + Dexterity on fail they take 3d6 Blood damage and then lose 15% their HP Maximum (Not Stackable) this can only be used once per long rest.

Tarnished Of Dragons

Tarnished who Threw away there humanity in order to become one with the dragons.

Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 1 and your Wisdom by 1.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Claw Of The Dragon Lord. Your Hand Becomes the size of a dragons claw and slams Down with terrifying force, you Jump 10 ft in the air and slam your Dragon Claw onto the ground a creature hit directly by this must make a Strength save DC = 10 + Strength + Proficiency bonus on a fail the creature takes 2d10 Bludgeoning Damage and are incapacitated and knocked prone until your next turn. Any creature within a 10 ft circle of where the claw was slammed down must make the same strength save as the previous one stated on fail they take 1d6 Bludgeoning damage and they are knocked prone. can only be used once per long rest
Blast Breath. Unleash the Dragon Lords Breath Beam, range = 5 by 30 foot line, this beam you release can take on one of the certain effects listed on one of the different races above (Ex. Omen Effect, Rot effect, Destined Death reduces the targets HP Maximum by 10% (Not Stackable) effect, lose 15% their HP Maximum (Not Stackable) Blood Effect.) on hit the target must make a Wisdom save DC = 10 + Wisdom + Proficiency bonus on fail they take 2d4 damage + are effected by one of effects of the other sub races stated above. can only be used once per long rest.

Tarnished Of Madness[edit]

Tarnished Of Madness a follower of the three fingers who wants to plunge the world into chaos.

Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Inescapable Frenzy. You embrace the frenzied flame and feel it all over your body your eyes glow yellow with the Yellow and orange Flame of frenzy, you grapple a creature within 5 ft of you using your Performance Charisma Check,(instead of using your athletics like normal) vs their Athletics or Acrobatics, if you win the contest you deal 3d6 frezy fire damage and inflict madness(Madness Effect = players afflicted with madness lose 2 points to any point based system they have. EX. monk with 14 max ki points they lose 2 so it becomes 12/14 obviously returning to max on long or short rest depending on the point system.) can only be used once per long rest.
Frenzied Burst. Your Self bursts with madness as your eyes glow with the Yellow and orange flame of frenzy Before you expel it in a frenzied burst eyebeam, You shoot a blast of pure madness from your eyes dealing 3d8 frenzy fire damage on hit and also inflicts the target with madness.(Madness Effect = players afflicted with madness lose 2 points to any point based system they have. EX. monk with 14 max ki points they lose 2 so it becomes 12/14 obviously returning to max on long or short rest depending on the point system.)range = 50ft. can only be used once per long rest.
