Why is this race vulnerable to acid damage? Given the penalty regarding spells like shatter, I would have thought thunder to be more appropriate. Why can't they regain hit points lost to acid damage through nonmagical means? That's a pretty hefty penalty, basically giving every attack that deals acid damage Life Drain like that of a wraith or spectre. What if acid damage reduces me to 0 hit points? Do I die? Am I permanently locked into a state of 0 hit points until the party finds me some magical healing? In fact, why not scrap the acid vulnerability in favour of the spell penalty?
