Talk:Unarmored Arcanist (5e Feat)
From D&D Wiki
"Removed the bit about shields as it is irrelevant."
It seems relevant enough for barbarian's Unarmored Defense, but alright. - Guy 16:21, 5 September 2018 (MDT)
- I re-added the bit about shields to conform to the verbiage used in other official material (barbarian's Unarmored Defense, lizardfolk's Natural Armor).
- As for this feat being "dull," there are three feats in the PH which increase an ability score by 1 and merely say, "You gain proficiency with X armor." This feat covers a similar domain of defenses and Armor Class, yet I would call it more interesting than those. This feat isn't going to win an award or something, but in that domain it is has clearly met minimum standards.
- I'll agree the ability score increase was too much. As it is, this feat represents about a half-level dip into monk's 1st level class features, and competes with the PH's Magic Initiate feat if one uses it to gain mage armor and a couple cantrips. To me that seems about right without the ASI.
- This addresses all the points made by the maintenance template, so I've taken the liberty of removing it. - Guy 04:49, 6 September 2018 (MDT)
