Talk:Thánatos & Vita (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
So, a couple of problems: the item's curse warrants this weapon being categorized as a cursed magic item. Because of that, the weapon needed to be based on an already existing weapon, so I chose the longsword for simplicity's sake. I also gave Vita another effect to make it more beneficial to attune to it, and gave Thántos a passive bonus with the Infernal language to try and have a reason behind willingly accepting the curse.
Considering how much I changed in such a short period of time, I'm open to a discussion on my edits (which comes across as more of a rewrite, but I tried to use as much of the original content that was already there as possible). --Hobogre (talk) 01:41, 21 June 2017 (MDT)
Honestly, this item does not seem as unbalanced as whoever called it into question seems to imply. for something on this wiki, it is incredibly tame- the extra damage is not high at all, and considering it takes a bonus action, is perfectly acceptable. i could even see this item being very rare.
- I made a slight change in that to get the rigid blade damage you need to hit with both weapons (but it no longer requires a reaction). If people don't like that feel free to revert.
- One question I do have is if each sword needs an attunement, or if only one attunement is needed for both weapons. Marasmusine (talk) 11:47, 1 June 2019 (MDT)
This item seemed fairly underwhelming for a legendary item and exceedingly broken when it came to Vita's case, being that one could theoretically gain infinite temporary hit points from its light ability. The items also had no drawbacks even though they are marked as cursed items. So I tweaked the abilities a bit and added some more flavor. Shemma (talk) 3:48, 7 August 2019 (MDT)
