Talk:Talisman of the Little Reaper (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
This item is a bit of a dream item to me, but I couldn't put Fink's image on because it was to large so here it is: This fun alot of fun to make, and i hope many DM's can use it ~Red1

This equipment reminds me of Soul Eater a little. The "creature + equipment", and name "little reaper", but it doesn't seem strong enough a connection for me to say for sure. I would expect a "creature-soul-eating" property if it was based on that. Coaldstone (talk) 15:39, 21 August 2022 (MDT)
Balance[edit]
I'm thinking about the balance concern. First consideration is that this is a legendary item, so PCs should already be quite high level, limiting the number of times a levelling happens. Let's say a party of 4 at 15th level. Fink gains an average of 5 hit points. The party spends the time to de-attune and re-attune, so gains 20 hit points when everyone is 16th level (for a total of 50 hit points). By 20th level, Fink has 130 hit points. I don't think this is a problem, considering that at this point the DM will be throwing everything she's got at the party, the campaign may be drawing to a close.
But the question is how this works narratively in the larger world. How many adventurer's hands has the talisman passed through, or will pass through? Over hundreds of years will Fink have 300 hit points? 1,000?
I propose either a cap on the hit points, or have Fink loose the extra hit points on de-attunement. For now I will put in the latter. Marasmusine (talk) 03:29, 22 August 2022 (MDT)
