According to DMG'14 page 274.

Offensive CR is 6 (39 dmg, +7 to hit).

Defensive CR is 3 (105 hp, 16 AC).

Final CR is the average of those two rounded up, so 5. So I'll change it to 5, instead of 8.
On a personal note even that feels maybe one level too high. CR calc doesn't account for the fact it's a middling speed with no ranged attacks (Kiting), that some of the poison damage requires both an attack roll and a save, etc. But it's a cool design idea for a monster. - Guy 22:03, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
