Talk:Swift Style (Shinobi World Supplement)
From D&D Wiki
With sage Chakra, is the movement speed doubled?
The Sage Chakra is only for damage?
How can I say that the Sage Chakra allows me to raise a giant statue statue? In terms of game, would that increase the damage?
- Sage Art’s range option only affects range, movement speed isn’t range (outside of specifically stated cases like Chidori). Not every jutsu is worth making a Sage Art, particularly jutsu like Surge. No idea what you’re talking about with the “giant statue” though.—Ref3rence (talk) 18:12, 26 November 2022 (MST)
On the giant statue, I meant the same in the anime, the frog raising a giant statue. And the other question was about the "sage art", if it could give to the "Basic Swift Style Technique" (30 feet) twice the base increased (+30 feet) 60 feet.
- If I remember correctly, those were toad sages who failed their training and were permanently petrified, so you'd just use Summoning. Basic Swift Style also doesn't have a range, so making it a Sage Art wouldn't effect it either.--Ref3rence (talk) 17:25, 29 November 2022 (MST)
So surge kind of feels like a worse haste to me. You get 1 less for AC bonus, and you do get an extra bonus action, but both it and the extra action are a unnecesary risk if you don't use a swift style jutsu.
- It is less powerful than Haste, but this is intended to not step on any toes; a wizard's main thing is casting spells, while a shinobi is effectively a martial spellcaster with utility from their subclass. I have slightly revised it, since "doing anything" was super vague, but it's not much of a risk, since even before you could simply not take the extra action.--Ref3rence (talk) 11:31, 19 January 2023 (MST)
