Talk:Stormbreaker (5e Class)
From D&D Wiki
This looks like a really interesting class that is a ton of fun to play, but it may seem really weak at later levels. The main issue being that almost every feature is dependent of the amount of surges the Stormbreaker has, but even at level 20, the Stormbreaker only has 10 surges. From even charge isn't enough to seriously fix this. I'd recommend gaining surges at the same rate at monks, with the Stormbreaker having a number of surges equal to the Stormbreaker level. Additionally, the saving throws are really weak. 8 + your strength modifier is unfortunately too low to affect almost anything once you get past ~level 9. Maybe try having the saving throw scale with something else, such as adding the wisdom modifier, double the strength modifier, or the proficiency bonus. Anyways, those are my suggestions to male the class better if you are still editing the class.
- Thanks for the input. I haven't had a chance to test this so I'm not sure about increasing the surge amount. Maybe just make regaining easier. I will increase the saving throws though, because it is a problem.--Yanied (talk) 12:27, 7 May 2020 (MDT)
- That really helps, but my concern now is that there still isn't much way to get charge points back at lower levels, and I guess that it doesn't make sense to have proficiency in heavy armor, but not light and medium armor. Either way, thanks for paying attention to my previous edits.
