Great, but needs a bit of tweaking[edit]
Rating[edit]
Power - 3/5 The power of the class is pretty well thought out and decently balanced, but it's main ability--the "sonic boom" has more cool thought and less actual use. After you plot a very specific and irritating geometric course, you get to deal a very neat amount of damage that you have almost equally balanced with how much damage you dealt to.. yourself. Also, the abilities can almost all be nullified by a zone of silence--this makes the class VERY vulnerable. --Sethron 22:32, 11 May 2009 (MDT)
- Well, sonic boom was intended to be more of a way to get around fast really, and increase your AC to the high heavens, with a pleasant explosion at the end. Though, this class has been given strange looks in the past, and I'll prolly revisit it sometime in the future, after I get a few good ideas for it. Also, a spellcaster is extremely vunerable in an antimagic field, seeing as all their spells are null and void, yet they are still considered the most powerful things in D&D. → Rith (talk) 23:09, 11 May 2009 (MDT)
- Antimagic Fields aren't level 1 spells. --TK-Squared 08:51, 12 May 2009 (MDT)
- I do like it. I was REALLY impressed by the thought put into the physics of the Sonic Boom class ability; I merely think that with a bit of tweaking this class could be way usable.. and I kinda used it as a base for a class I built specifically for my character just a bit ago because you inspired me. So, while for flavor and even good roleplaying, the Sonic Boom is great, I merely think it's not quite powerful enough for standard D&D high-level. --Sethron 17:11, 12 May 2009 (PST)
Wording - 5/5 Very good writing and wording. Easy read. Yes. --Sethron 22:32, 11 May 2009 (MDT)
Formatting - 5/5 Great formatting. Beautifully easy to read. --Sethron 22:32, 11 May 2009 (MDT)
Flavor - 4/5 The class is fun-sounding and attracted my character whom I was searching around for, but I don't understand why they are mad--or even how that ties in! It kinda reminds me of Hancock.. constantly drunk and very manic. Which is awesome and seems very Marvel Superhero to me, but not necessarily inside a standard dungeons and dragons setting. --Sethron 22:32, 11 May 2009 (MDT)
- Hmmm, I never though of this class as being 'Hancocky', heh, thats interesting. Well, the crazy part was just to add in a little extra spice. You know, give the character a little bit of personality that you don't find just anywhere, instead of making class after class that has the personality of a fighter. Though, thanks for the rating. → Rith (talk) 23:09, 11 May 2009 (MDT)
- I would like to make note that while I am criticizing the things I found that WERE a bit off (that is, in my opinion), the fact that I found so LITTLE off in a built class is amazing. This is the only class I could read far enough to actually WANT to rate it. I really do like it. I just don't feel I said that enough, for some reason. ^^; --Sethron 17:11, 12 May 2009 (PST)
Perform[edit]
With a class built around the manipulation of sound, it seems frankly bizarre to me that the Sonic Warrior doesn't have perform as a class skill. Do you have a reason for this? --Jagadaishio 22:33, 1 August 2009 (MDT)
- Actually, I need to revisit this entire class, upgrade it to v2.0 ya know. I probably will add perform to the list of class skills when I do that. Though, I would like to hold that until I really know what I want to do to repair the class. → Rith (talk) 16:47, 1 August 2009 (MDT)
- Makes sense to me. I'm looking forward to the update. --Jagadaishio 22:33, 1 August 2009 (MDT)
