Search vs. Spot[edit]
I changed the associated skill from Search to Spot, and the prerequisite from Int to Wis, because I see this ability as being more closely tied to perception than knowledge. However, I wouldn't mind being overruled. –Cúthalion (talk) 08:41, 25 April 2007 (MDT)
- I would tend to agree with the argument for Search rather than Spot. Spot seems to be more geared toward the detection of creatures and other obvious dangers, whereas the search skill is a more fine-tuned casting about for some particular odd or end. On the subject of Wisdom vs. Intelligence with regard to the prerequisite for the feat I couldn't be certain. I agree with you that I think the feat is more about character perception and understanding than erudition, but Intelligence is relevant to Search rather than Wisdom. However, since this feat will most benefit a rogue dealing with traps, I lean more toward Intelligence for the prerequisite than Wisdom, if only for game mechancis reasons.--Rakankou 14:29, 25 April 2007 (MDT)
- I agree with Rakankou in term of Search, though wisdom makes more sense as the governing attribute (from a RP perspective, though not necessarily a balance one. Besides, having Wis instead of Int hardly breaks the game...). I'd vote for Search and Wis. –EldritchNumen 02:23, 27 April 2007 (MDT)
