Talk:Reaper Aasimar (5e Subrace)
Needsbalance[edit]
I removed the template because it is generic. It doesn't say why it isn't balanced. I don't see negative ASIs as a balance issue either (in this instance!). Sure, we agree they shouldn't be used to balance traits, but the template says this is more powerful but remarks about a nerf. Get what I mean? There's no service or help in telling a user, "this is too powerful", and not explaining why. ~ BigShotFancyMan talk contributions 07:37, 15 March 2019 (MDT)
- This makes things clearer about what you mean. —ConcealedLight (talk) 08:53, 15 March 2019 (MDT)
- Yeah my bad, I will try to use clearer edit summaries. If OP abandons this, I would like to keep it as I like the lore of the reaper thing. If you have something better (race or aasimar subrace) in mind I'd be interested to see it though admittedly I am partial to this celestial touched race having a reaper subrace. ~ BigShotFancyMan talk contributions 09:36, 15 March 2019 (MDT)
- I think WoTC has the same partiality. The Scourage Aasimar is pretty much that, celestial wrath the subrace after all. The Blood Angel that used to get vandalised often is also an attempt at the celestial wrath thing but idr off the top of my head. Off topic but I plan on rolling up a Protector Aasimar, Divine Soul Sorcerer, Celestial PoB Warlock for maximum holy power in which there will be a lot of holier than thou type of behaviour. —ConcealedLight (talk) 09:59, 15 March 2019 (MDT)
- Oh man, that is a really interesting blend. Intrigued as always.
- fair point on scourage too. No reason one cannot roleplay that with some DM cooperation unless someone just had to have their own custom subrace. ~ BigShotFancyMan talk contributions 10:21, 15 March 2019 (MDT)
- I'll let you know how it goes. But yeah this subrace can be achieved with a scourage aasimar, and a pact of the blade warlock that grabs devil sight and darkness. Their pact weapon can be a Greatsycth (5e Equipment) or a reflavored weapon that deals slashing a greataxe or could be appropriate. —ConcealedLight (talk) 10:41, 15 March 2019 (MDT)
What was wrong with my edits they made more sense and was balanced. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.254.252.242 (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts.
- Comparatively they really were not and make the subclass a stronger version of the protector aasimar. Nothing balanced about it. —ConcealedLight (talk) 15:43, 25 June 2019 (MDT)
Technically necrotic damage is weaker then radiant because there are more creatures that are resistant then there are creature who are resistant to radiant. Also getting stealth proficiency is not that op.
- perhaps it really isn't, but comparatively it is. I am not sure why we allow dwarves and elves in the game when comparatively they are way better than catfolk but (*shrug*) they are allowed. ~ BigShotFancyMan 06:20, 1 July 2019 (MDT)
