Build Problems[edit]

The build takes Spellsword at level 6, but with the listed progression of Sorc4/Fighter1 it fails to have the necessary +4 BAB required to qualify for the PrC. This also means the claim lower down of taking Wiz3 to get Spellsword earlier is inaccurate. The earliest Spellsword can be taken is level 7, with both Wiz4/Sorc4 and Fighter2 working to get there.

Being new, I felt it best to note this here rather than modify the build page itself for now - Neonin 06:44, 1 July 2008 (MDT)

it would work if he took the battle sorcerer variant. but, well, he didn't mention that. --Hijax 01:58, 11 April 2009 (MDT)

Possible Modifications[edit]

No mention is made of the fact that Spellsword only increases spells and caster level every other level. If you want to increase your caster level, taking Practiced Spellcaster (Wizard) from Complete Arcane will add another 4 onto it.

I'll be looking at modifying this in the future as I was about to start work on a similar build - Neonin 06:49, 1 July 2008 (MDT)

An idea[edit]

Trade the Fighter level for a level of Duskblade or use Warmage in place of Sorcerer, giving you the Armoured Mage (Light) ability, then take the Battle Caster feat from Complete Mage(I think) which improves it to Medium Armour. Then only take 1 level of Spellsword to negate the penalty from any shield you carry and move into something with better caster progression.
