Talk:Power Gloves (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Hello, fellow wikian! I do know that there are power gloves in Legend of Zelda game, but it seems a bit too overpowered, perhaps? I mean, Gauntlets of Ogre Power is an uncommon magic item in Dungeon Master's Guide, but it makes your Strength score 19. Plus, the ability modifier maximum cap in the 5th edition is 30 - that's what DMG also states, too. Maybe the ability score could be a bit lower. --WeirdoWhoever (talk) 04:41, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
- Gauntlets of Ogre Power are mainly useful because they increase the wearer's Strength to 19 for all purposes—attack rolls, damage rolls, strength saving throws, ability checks, etc. Power gloves only affect what weight the wearer can lift, carry, or drag. I should have been more clear about that, I guess.
- In lieu of the wearer having the wearer's Strength score "treated" as being a number it couldn't actually be, perhaps I should represent a similar capacity in a simpler way—such as just standing the exact weight in pounds that can be lifted, carried, or dragged? That doesn't account for creatures that aren't Small or Medium, but I suppose that isn't necessary.. — Guy (talk | edits) 04:49, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
- Checked the changes - I was too quick to make a judge of an article, the Strength score referred to pushing, dragging, or lifting activities only. I like the way you revised the description to avoid misunderstanding, such as myself did above. Thank you! --WeirdoWhoever (talk) 05:14, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
