battery depletion[edit]
This weapon — and a number of others — refer to battery depletion: usage of the weapon depletes the battery by such-and-such a percent. Is there some reason to keep this terminology, or could it just be said the Plasma Cannon holds 200 charges? I know rules lawyers who would insist that 'depletion of battery by .5%' means that the current charge is depleted by .5% percent (meaning multiply the old charge by .995 to get the new charge). - It’s clearer, at any rate. I remain of the opinion that tracking single charges would be simpler than subtracting half-percents of the original charge, but it does allow one more flexibility in decrementing the life of a multiuse weapon such as the energy sword. - Well, you see, in Halo, they are registered as percentages rather than charges, so I was trying to remain closer to the game. --Sam Kay 08:20, 12 December 2007 (MST)
- Fair enough. I admit that I'm not a computer game aficionado, and I think first of things at my gaming table. I'm afraid some of my more numerically challenged players would find the decremented percentages a daunting prospect :-) (Of course, the others are the rules lawyers who would try to multiply the remaining charge by .995 so maybe it just all works out!)
