Talk:Philosophy Manifest (5e Sourcebook)
Being both interested in philosophy and D&D, I would like to applaud what has been written on this page so far, and to say that I have found a great laugh out of learning about this page, and showing it to my friends. I think I will contribute to this page, just to bring it closer to being complete, even though we know that Hegel's philosophy suggests that philosophy would likely never be complete since we, the thinkers, are innately incomplete. Haha. Janderion (talk) 15:14, 31 March 2022 (MDT)
- Ooh, cool! I sort of made it as a joke for myself originally. Didn't think any other people would be really interested. Glad to have you.--Yanied (talk) 17:52, 31 March 2022 (MDT)
I think it would be really funny to have a feature of some level which with great mastery of understanding what it means to be a living person (topics under Being Human), you have advantage on persuasion checks to convince other sentient creatures that they are not the person that they would like to be. Not directly a powerful trait, but powerful for characters with great persuasion already. Janderion (talk) 18:04, 1 April 2022 (MDT)
- Yeah that almost sounds a bit like Sartre telling everyone they aren't free haha.--Yanied (talk) 00:47, 2 April 2022 (MDT)
On your first point on the To-do list, should those features be moved under the classes in hte explanation section or do they just get an extra label? Janderion (talk) 14:12, 4 April 2022 (MDT)
- Probably a higher header (sigh). I'd rather not make another high header and just move the subs down a level instead--Yanied (talk) 14:21, 4 April 2022 (MDT)
To-Do List[edit]
- The stuff with subclass names like "college" and "path" should probably be put under class headers
- Similar concepts should be grouped with semicolons under the larger concepts (see freedom and other examples)
I made this page originally only for myself so I never cared to organize it. But this should help compress a lot of things somewhat. Alternatively, we can leave it as a chaotic display in and of itself to show the absurdity of semantic order.--Yanied (talk) 14:03, 4 April 2022 (MDT)
