Great work.

A Question And An Observation[edit]

Question: Are phantoms even proficient with armor of any kind? It notes that they do not incur the much-loathed arcane spell failure chance, mentions that Phantoms can turn their armor incorporeal when they turn into a shadow-thing, but it doesn't actually say they are proficient with armor, or more specifically, what sort.

This looks like an interesting class (freaking lot of dead levels though) except that the Soul Distortion mechanic seems to make it increasingly unlikely that unless the Phantom is willing to burn rapidly through his own hitpoints, he will be also unwilling to risk using his more potent abilities; discharge a couple of 9th level powers in a single day and he's stuck with an 80% likelihood of dazing himself (with the Hardened Soul decrease) - and unless he sacrifices his hitpoints or the healer can find the time to remove his Distortion from him, he becomes increasingly restricted to lower and lower level powers. Being able to fire off my higher level power (since I can only have one at my disposal at any given time) whenever I want is effectively useless if the number of times I can use my powers is predicated on expending my own vitality or forcing my friendly local healer to expend a large amount of restorative spells on my behalf simply because my own powers tend to knock me silly all the time. Yes, the Phantom can heal himself much like a monk, but again, it only does so much to alleviate the Distortion issue. Atypicaloracle 04:50, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Powers[edit]

When will someone create more Shadow Powers?

Rating[edit]

Power - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because the power balance is really good it doesn't look like you can run away with it but at the same time the downside was included in the class flavour --125.237.89.201 05:45, 19 August 2012 (MDT)

Wording - <<<5>>>/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because it is worded very simlarly to actualy DND books which makes it easy to follow and read --125.237.89.201 05:45, 19 August 2012 (MDT)

Formatting - 3.5/5 I give this class a 3.5 out of 5 because you haven't included a spell list, the rest of the class is amazing but without a spell list it kinda falls over, being a spellcasting class and all --125.237.89.201 05:45, 19 August 2012 (MDT)

Read the second line of Powers and it has a link to its Shadow Power List.--Milo High-Hill (talk) 05:58, 19 August 2012 (MDT)
