Talk:Patron Initiate (5e Feat)
From D&D Wiki
5e doesn't have "free actions", and I'm not sure what the purpose of manifesting the symbol is.
Two invocations on top of a free choice of an ability improvement seems a bit much. Marasmusine (talk) 07:09, 16 July 2017 (MDT)
The two invocations have to be one of the ones available as a first level warlock. The PHB was errataed to say the prerequisite levels for invocations had to be warlock levels. Xoia Nightwalker (talk)
Strictly Better than Eldritch Adept[edit]
I am aware that this feat was homebrewed into existence before Tasha's Cauldron was released, but this feat feels like a strictly better version of Eldritch Adept, which comes from Tasha's Cauldron. Eldritch Adept requires you to have the Spellcasting or Pact Magic feature, and it allows you to take one eldritch invocation, but you can't take an invocation with a prerequisite if you're not a Warlock. Patron Initiate has no prerequisite whatsoever, and it allows you to take two eldritch invocations without the aforementioned caveat, increase an ability score of your choice by 1, and "manifest the symbol of your patron anywhere on your body" (whatever that's supposed to mean).
