Talk:Path of the Hermit (Shinobi World Supplement)

Theming[edit]
I like the concept of this path (I've been kicking around such a thing for a while but have clearly been preoccupied), but I'm not sure this is the right way to represent the ninja monks. As it is now (and was even more so before I tweaked it), this is basically a less complex, more restrictive Path of the Sage. There's really nothing hermit-like or monk-like in how a player using this path might play, you just build up big chakra for big punches. Compare that to how the Thousand-Armed jutsu play: outside of Murder, they lock the player out of more aggressive, direct play in exchange for unbreakable defense; they almost completely shut down conflict as an option for both sides like a monk with ninja magic might. I think a second take on this path with this in mind, perhaps granting its unique jutsu in a way similar to the Path of Sight (maybe Thousand-Armed Murder could even allow for a more aggressive branch of alternate features taking its red form into account), could turn this into something truly interesting to play and unique to build.--Ref3rence (talk) 22:12, 22 June 2023 (MDT)
