My guess is because it's definitively better for two-weapon fighting than any light SRD weapon. It effectively offers a +2 damage bonus over someone fighting with two scimitars. I wouldn't really call it balanced... - Guy (talk) 03:32, 19 July 2017 (MDT)

I don't think wielding another weapon in your off-hand is subject to a damage die increase. What makes it increase the damage? The confidence you feel with a dagger in your other hand? Just because someone trains in a two weapon style (assuming it's accurate they did that) doesn't change the physics of a weapon. PunnyDM12 (talk) 21:20, 21 November 2018 (MST)
