???[edit]

why ancestral relic and kensai levels? it seems kinda counter intuitive to have the same ability twice, when it doesnt stack. or am i missing something?

also what exactly is this optimizing? its not dealing the greatest damage, and looks kinda flavorful, but i'm not catching the optimization

and how are you qualifying for weapon specialization? kensai doesnt count as fighter levels, and you need to be a 4th level fighter for weapon spec--Name Violation 09:22, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Weapon Specialization is gone, but Melee Weapon Mastery (which has weapon spec as prereq) remains. That also needs to go.--edwin 05:00, 29 November 2010 (MST)
I can see having two weapons of differing materials to bypass various DRs, but this is going a bit far to achieve something like that... --Ganre 06:54, 29 November 2010 (MST)
The kensai class is more or less pointless simply due to the existence of the Ancestral Weapon feat, other than for enhancing your fists, it simply isn't worth giving up full BAB for a class whose main class feature is replicable with a single feat. Zau (talk) 20:11, 4 June 2013 (MDT)
It's also not worth picking up a feat that can be replicated by fighting monsters. --Andreichekov (talk) 22:01, 7 August 2013 (MDT)
The feat can save you money and allow you to upgrade your weapon without outside help. There are potential reasons to use it. It's also a pre-req for a PrC.
