Talk:Orb of Antimagic (5e Equipment)

"Spell resistance"? "Deflection" bonus to AC? That isn't 5e. SirSprinkles (talk) 23:04, 12 November 2016 (MST)
- The OP continues to make 5e material seemingly using the 3rd edition books. I have made these changes:
- Increased rarity to legendary. Antimagic Field is an 8th-level spell, you would normally have to be a 15th level wizard; but this item increases the radius and drops the concentration. If we treat it like a 9th-level spell, it increases the character level to 17th, which is the expected level for legendary items.
- Removed legacy terms "extraplanar", "caster level", "spell resistance", "hardness", "deflection".
- The antimagic field spell already gives us a description of what it does, so there's no need to describe a contradictory set of mechanics.
- Although there's nothing broken about "1d10 hours", there's no reason not to use the normal method for 5e item recharges. We just need to determine how many times we would expect this item to be used. I think once per day is fair, so gave it one charge that regenerates at dawn.
- Three terms were being used: "antimagics", "antimagic" and "anti-magic". I've set everything to the latter (although thinking about it, maybe it should be "antimagic" per the spell) Marasmusine (talk) 01:36, 13 November 2016 (MST)
