I'm assuming the small spider swarms will be minions. What might be interesting is if the carrier bursts into spider swarms when it is bloodied (rather than reduced to 0 hit points). That way, the XP cost of the minions is included in the cost of the carrier. This makes the DMs job a bit easier when budgeting an encounter. Marasmusine (talk) 04:21, 22 July 2012 (MDT)

I've spotted two further issues:

  • The carrier is level 10, but the minions it spawns are only level 5. This is okay if the party are level 7 or 8, but outside this range either the carrier is too high level, or the swarms are too low level.
  • The "Hunt" trait - deciding how a surviving monster might return in the game - is something that a DM is expected to use their judgement with anyway. You can describe how the spider pursues those it has fought in the general description, but it shouldn't be a statblock rule. Perhaps you can make the venom-biter a Lurker instead, as lurkers tend to slip in and out of combat. Marasmusine (talk) 01:09, 23 July 2012 (MDT)
