About Nami Mako -Gestalt character-[edit]

Obviously, i never intended for her to fight off the PCs, she`s a powerful but gentle support figure that will help with advice and healing if the PCs travel all the way to where she was. Was thinking in giving her a divine rank and include her in my pantheon instead, but finally decided against it. She could be a good proxy for a kind god, however.

Changes and Notes[edit]

  • Druids must have a neutral element in their alignment and celestial mystics must be LG. This character bends the rules a bit.
  • Two non-exalted feats too many. Since Spell Thematics (Player's Guide to Faerun) has the prereq "Arcane caster level 1st," this character doesn't qualify for the feat. In addition Fast Wild Shape have been removed.
  • Epic Spellcasting is completely useless to a character under a Vow of Poverty. The character will never be able to afford to develop any epic spells (not to mention the character can't use magical items to increase the Spellcraft modifier to help cast the spell), so I replaced it with Ignore Material Components.
  • No clue as to how an AC of 44 was calculated. I keep ending up with 41.
  • Ability scores are bit of mystery, too. Remove the VoP benefits and you end up with: Str 10, Dex 18, Con 18, Int 16, Wis 24, Cha 22. At 30th-level a character gets only 7 ability score increases. If 6 increases when into Wis (making the ability score at 1st-level 18), that would only leave one for Cha, which makes it 3 points too high. This character can't cast wish/miracle, and the VoP prevents it from owning manuals and tomes.
  • Specified spirit folk type (sea spirit folk).
  • Based on the gestalt rules I assigned this NPC a CR of 31. Scratch that. Gestalt NPCs should only be used in campaigns with gestalt PCs.
  • Fleshed out skill modifiers and feats for the "animal" companion.
  • Didn't include animal companion bonus tricks. A creature with Int 13 can do any of the SRD tricks that a Int 1 or 2 creature can be trained to do.
  • No idea how the "animal" companion's ability scores were calculated. I used the MM II entry and adjusted them based on the rules for animal companions and Vow of Poverty.
  • Shugenja spells known and druid spells prepared still need to be fleshed out. Can't forget to include the +4 DC on non-damaging spells against humanoids and monstrous humanoids from Vow of Nonviolence.
