Question regarding More Actions (5e Variant Rule)[edit]

Greetings. In a supplement I play with, that uses this variant rule as a base for a few abilities, there is an example of a rooting distracting action, and there is also a bonus action that can reduce action cost as such: Action -> Bonus Action -> Free action. My question is, since some users seem to have interpreted it as such, would in your opinion "reducing action cost" for a rooting distracting action, turn it merely into a bonus action, or would it become a rooting distracting bonus action; lose only the rooting or distracting property, or should it not be reduced at all? I personally believe it shouldn't be reduced to purely a bonus action, and this is probably up to DM interpretation anyway as written currently, but I would like your opinion as author of the page.

Thanks for your time, I'll be hoping for an answer Satepin (talk) 11:46, 13 August 2024 (MDT)

In the example you gave, it would become a rooting distracting bonus action, since the only thing the given wording changes would be action → bonus action.—Ref3rence (talk) 12:14, 13 August 2024 (MDT)
