Talk:Mimic Armor (5e Equipment)

Hey all! I really wanted to try making a new item, but nothing really came to mind, so I asked an old friend if he had any concepts, and he handed me this, so here it is. (That was the craziest run-on sentence ever LOL).

I've already had some feedback from IRL friends that say it sounds weird that a mimic would be eating plain rations--that it should instead either drink blood or eat small creatures--but I'm going to leave it like it is right now unless more people speak up about it. The argument for the small creatures I can see for sure; mimics are ambushing predators, so it's not like they'll sit around and eat leaves. I can't however see the argument for blood, as I think that leans more towards vampires or liches. I also want to keep this item as it stands as a "doom counter." Since the AC is kinda really strong in higher levels, I think it needs to be rather punishing if you forget to feed it one day.
