Talk:Magical Deflect (5e Spell)
From D&D Wiki
Oops, I hadn't made breadcrumbs for Bard or Warlock spells. Should be okay now. Marasmusine (talk) 15:05, 28 January 2015 (MST)
I'm a bit confused by some bits:
- "Instead of using your AC, make an attack roll WITHOUT your spell attack bonus." - won't this just be a d20? Does it still count as a spell attack roll?
- "if you roll a natural 20 on your attack roll, you knock the opponent's weapon out of their hands. " - what if it was a ranged attack or a spell attack?
Could it work like a magical version of the Fighter's Parry feature instead? Marasmusine (talk) 03:19, 29 January 2015 (MST)
- The original plan was for the spell to only work on melee attacks, which is why I gave it to more weapon-using casters (Bard and Warlock). If you think it would work better with changed mechanics and the ability to deflect ranged and spell attacks, you can tell me and I'll attempt to change it to that. --OwenLeaf (talk) 14:27, 29 January 2015 (MST)
