Talk:Mùspelflame (5e Spell)

Let me be real for a second, here. I would really like to drop the whole "X race gets X modifier to their save, and blah blah blah skeletons, but not the special skeletons, etc." thing. I really truly would like to get rid of it. But it's been on the page since its conception, so I would feel bad if I didn't try to incorporate at least some of it into the final spell, somehow. The problem here is that I have no idea how to do that.

Also, the name Muspelflame implies that it's vaguely hellish in nature, or at the very least has a very close relation to the Elemental Plane of Fire (which is basically Muspelheim). That being the case, I'm not sure if the damage types correspond to that very well. Instead, it's more like an angel slipped on a puddle of nectar and went careening through the sky straight into wherever the spell was aimed. Don't get me wrong, Radiant damage and Force damage are both pretty great, but I don't know how to incorporate Fire into that without removing one of the others, and that would just swap the theme around entirely. I can live with this dissonance of nomenclature, but it's still gonna bug me ever so slightly, like a tiny splinter. --Nuke The Earth (talk) 18:09, 15 August 2020 (MDT)
