Talk:Lesser Phoenix (5e Creature)
From D&D Wiki
- There are some slip-ups here that show where you got some of the traits. I see "mephit", "wolf"...
- On the creature taking damage on each of their turns, that should be specified, rather than just saying " the creature takes 5 (1d10) fire damage." On whose turn, and when in that turn? Usually it is the beginning, but can also be the end, etc, etc.
- Scores should be written out ("Dexterity", not "dex")
- The beak and talon attacks have the ability to catch stuff on fire, but why do neither deal fire damage? If anything, maybe the breath should be the one to ignite stuff, and the beak and talons should be mundane.
This is a good tamp-down of the OGL phoenix creature from Mordekainen's Tomb of Foes. --Yanied (talk) 07:49, 9 December 2019 (MST)
- Is that where that picture is from? And, also, a phoenix is on fire, so I figured that a melee attack would have some sort of fire something to utilize. Flamestarter (talk) 09:15, 9 December 2019 (MST)Flamestarter
- No, I'm not sure where the image is from. You can include the source. The OGL phoenix is the standard phoenix in 5e, found in Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes. And, yeah I figured it was covered in flames. But that's still odd that it's breath doesn't catch anything on fire, which is usually what happens. The different mundane traits are so it has a variance of damage type (claws for slashing, beak for piercing, breath for setting stuff on fire).--Yanied (talk) 10:04, 9 December 2019 (MST)
- Do you want me to put in that the breath lights stuff on fire? Flamestarter (talk) 12:00, 9 December 2019 (MST)Flamestarter
