Can't believe I didn't do Krookodile sooner, especially after Scrafty had been done ages ago. Anyway, there's not much to say about this one except for the fact that I... think this might be the first race I made with a burrowing speed. Eh, maybe not, but more on that later.

I had at least three names for I was debating on going for when it came to Obsidian Fang. There was, of course, Obsidian Fang which is from Krookodile's Sun & Moon TCG expansion, Dark Fang which is the Japanese translation of Obsidian Fang, and Megaton Fang from it's XY Black Star Promos card. I went with Obsidian Fang because, although Megaton Fang drives home the power of Krookodile's bite, which according to the pokedex can crush automobiles and destroy steel plates with ease, it just sounded cooler. I also debated giving it Hungry Jaws from the Lizardfolk statblock to, once more, emphasize Krookodile's ferocity, but decided against it since I already gave it a bonus action trait in the form of Moxie. Heck, I even considered trying to give it an ability similar to the Beastmaster Ranger's land beast companion ability Maul, which forces a creature hit by it's attack to make a strength save or be knocked prone, but felt this was too strong.

The funny thing about Krookodile having a Burrowing speed is the fact I had a long debate with myself over whether or not it should have that or a Swim speed that is restricted to sand. This is due to thew fact the pokedex says that the Krookodile line can move through sand as if they're swimming through it (and this is also seen in Scarlet and Violet). I decided to go with Burrow not just for the novelty but because "Well, it's a Ground type and it CAN learn Dig, so I guess it works". --MetalShadowOverlord (talk) 17:08, 8 March 2023 (MST)
