Unsure About This Feature[edit]
While it is a fair point that this with Subtle Spell allows you to cast most spells counterspell free, I am not sure that is too big a problem. There is the innate cost of choosing Subtle Spell over other metamagics and then you have to spend a sorcery point and the benefit of this is you are just able to cast your spell. If anything, it likely is more unfair to a player that does all of this and gets counterspelled anyway because the spell had material components. However, this feature is also a straight up increase to the power of a sorcerer, which may not be ok at all tables. Overall, I do have mixed feelings about this feature and am unsure about it, hence I would like to hear other's thoughts on it before it is perhaps deleted. --Blobby383b (talk) 15:26, 8 December 2021 (MST)
- Just change it so it will work only for spells that have material components that lack a cost in gp. This would work as a ribbon/flavor feature just fine. Anastacio (talk) 15:51, 11 December 2021 (MST)
- That nerf doesn't address this feature's other potential balance problems, but I overall feel that such a nerf should be able to bring this feature to a better state.--Blobby383b (talk) 12:48, 12 December 2021 (MST)
