Questions[edit]

Just a couple questions/things you need to do:

  1. Is this for D&D or D20 Modern?
  2. Either put it in Category:Combat-Focused, Strong Spellcasting, Moderate Spellcasting, or Separate Spellcasting. Additionally, if it applies, either Category:Good, or Evil.
  3. This needs to be added to DnD Prestige Classes if it is made for D&D.

Please tell me when you finish them, or if you need help. Thanks. --Green Dragon 17:00, 13 December 2006 (MST)

Joke?[edit]

Is this a joke or what???

I can't even understand how the initial net worth value is calculated: it is the starting 10.000 gp, isn't it???

The stock feat is too random and the whole background makes little or NO sense at all in an economical setting similar to this world prior to european renaissance... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.221.198.36 (talkcontribs) 16:00, 25 January 2007 (MST). Please sign your posts.

Well, if you so wish, fix it up. This is one of those PrC's that need a lot of work to be made good. So, if you have any ideas on improving this please go ahead and do them or just discuss them here and as a community we can fix this so it works in medieval Europe... --Green Dragon 22:48, 25 January 2007 (MST)
The biggest problem I see here is not the defition of Net worth. That's easily applied to non-liquid assets (Boats, house, Chicken farms, etc.) Now, how about we define the validity of it's usefuleness as follows:
Suit and Tie:
For every 12,000 gp of your Net Worth you invest in this, you gain a +1 modifier to any charisma-based skill, as well as profession (businessman/merchant) and your Appraise checks. You cannot wear nay thign else in these appropriate slots, or wear naythign that conceals them, such as a cloak or Jacket. This will cause the benifits to be lost. If the ties is partially overed by anything that is not a part of the suit, than you will lose a portion of the modifier equal to what part of the tie is covered. Formal vests don't count as dmaging the bonus, but they ust match the tie. Every time the tie is changed in Networth, it's color and design msut be specified,as is the suit. Colro coordination is t bedetermined by the person with the best fashion sense in the party (which is rarely the DM, but has been knwon to be on rare occasions,) or the person with a girlfirend to consult. If no one has a girlfriend, than you go to whoever is considered msot fashonable (the major test is the ability to tell and explin the differencebetween fuschia and hot pink.)
Economic incentive (same level as Remember you Roots/Oppress the Poor):
If you are a Neutral (in Good/Evil) businessman, you may instead elect to part with with soem of your net Worth. for every 1,000 gp spent, you may increase the Craft/Profession/Perform skills of a townsperson by one. You may repeat this benifit on the same person agai and again, but this effect will only last for one week per level in Importan Businessman.
Skinny watch:
For every 8,000 gp you put in form your net worth, you gain a special modifeir of +1 to any intelligence based ability score, as well as diplomacy. This item counts a magical bracelet. Removing it will lsoe the benefits. If stolen, the benefits are lost, but can only be granted to anther person with the profession of Merchant or businessman. The watch can be concealed if you are using long sleeves. The affects are considered spell-like, and the item i consider premanenetly enchanted.
Thse are jsut soem ideas, I woudl lie some input.
Hopefully helpfully yours,
