Talk:Illithid (5e Class)
From D&D Wiki
stub[edit]
I'll clarify a bit what I mean in the stub. An illithid is a creature in D&D and makes sense as a homebrew race, but it doesn't make nearly as much sense as a class, since some of the class features would relate directly to the anatomy and biology of the illithid creature. However, this could be a class that is only available to illithids. You don't really see this in 5e, but an exception could be made for a homebrew. Basically, it should be made clear if this is a class for creatures whose race is already illithid, or is this for creatures whose race is anything? If it is the former, then the class name should probably be changed. PJammaz (talk) 17:01, 5 March 2020 (MST)
- Versions of this exist in past editions and their referred to as racial levels or monstrous levels. As you said, it should be race that matches the name of the class or some connection at least. Red Leg Leo (talk) 10:04, 9 March 2020 (MDT)
