hope you like this sub-race also this race scored a 2 on the Musicus Meter (5e Guideline) the normal 5e elf race scored a 4 which would bring the total score to 6.--Erlek Thunder weaver (talk | contribs | email) 05:12, 9 June 2018 (MDT)

Fey dwarf[edit]

Cost Racial Trait
1 Intelligence score increases by 1.
0.5 Damage Resistance.
0.5 Cantrip.
2 Total.
Sorry, but it is very overpowered. Try the 5e Race Design Guide#Marasmusine's Meter. An elf subrace should score 1.5 (certainly not 4):
  • Damage resistance to a common type (1)
  • Proficiency in 2 skills (2)
  • Cantrip (0.5)
  • Weapon proficiency bundle (0.5)
  • Tool proficiency (0.5)
The Ice Elf scores 4.5 - this is the score for a race unto itself, not a subrace. You need to remove almost all the traits. Marasmusine (talk) 06:00, 9 June 2018 (MDT)
I agree that this is too powerful. Even when you judge this subrace by the Musicus Meter, where it scores an 8, this elf subrace is a good deal better than the other elf subraces, which score 6.5 (high, wood) or 7 (dark), making this clearly better than any PHB subrace. Without using any meter at all and just comparing this subrace to the ones in the PHB, this gets more and better traits than those. My recommendation is to strip out the skill proficiency and tool proficiency. This brings the subrace to a 2.5 on the Musicus meter, in line with the other elf subraces, or 2 on Marasmusine's meter, putting it slightly above the 1.5 he recommends above, but still within what I consider acceptable bounds, and below the dark elf's 2.5 (?). — Geodude Chatmod.png (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 11:23, 9 June 2018 (MDT)
With my revised meter, dark elves score the same as the other subraces.
You could have cold resistance or one skill proficiency, then either the cantrip or tool proficiency. The weapon proficiencies look a bit random. Marasmusine (talk) 12:06, 9 June 2018 (MDT)
I did not notice the weapon proficiencies; I assumed they were the same as the high/wood/eladrin, and I agree the ones here don't make much sense and could see them being removed. I also didn't see the revised meter. As a side note, you've missed force damage when considering damage resistances on that meter. I think cantrip + cold resistance is probably pretty reasonable. — Geodude Chatmod.png (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 12:23, 9 June 2018 (MDT)
Look man im new around here this Musicus Meter (5e Guideline) was a great help i just did not know about a few things why the hate? I know it is int perfect but for a new guy this can help them think of stuff so dont just dis it because its ¨Broken¨ becase something broken can lead another man to gold and while yes its true the score might not help crate fair races i now know that. were all buddy's here lets just work together and crate some fun stuff. :) Sincerely --Erlek Thunder weaver (talk | contribs | email) 17:05, 9 June 2018 (MDT)
And look i changed it because of the feed back! thats what we as a group should be doing instead of jut blaming a broken meter! look if you see something that a bit op dont just go to another page and post a link of that race there saying ¨LOOK ITS BROKEN¨ WE KNOW but its up to us as a group to work together to make these pages better not just some meter.--Erlek Thunder weaver (talk | contribs | email) 17:11, 9 June 2018 (MDT)
I understand your defensive reaction, but nobody was hating anything. You just had two people point out that the subrace was very powerful compared to the core races, and you also had some constructive feedback. Would you have preferred it if I just went in and edited it without discussing it first? Marasmusine (talk) 01:21, 10 June 2018 (MDT)
