Talk:Heaven's Door (5e Spell)
From D&D Wiki
Just as a creator's note: I did not make the spell Divination due to holy connotations. I made it divination due to it's ability to gain information from the target, especially since the Divination school's description states they are "Spells that reveal information." I created this spell when I was very unsure about where the line is between certain spells and struggled to classify it. I feel that transmutation works, but I still do struggle to classify spells exactly. Arguably, since the description of the Enchantment school is "Spells that imbue the recipient with some property or grant the caster power over another being" you could technically classify this as Enchantment, since it grants the caster power of another being in some way. Spell school descriptions feel very vague to me, but I'm sure others don't struggle with it nearly as much. I felt the need to explain just so others know my train of thought. Hopefully by putting this down I'll either better classify spell schools. Cornmage (talk) 14:02, 13 September 2020 (MST)
