Talk:Hawkeye Shooter (5e Feat)
From D&D Wiki
I like this direction that this feat is pointed, but I feel that it is trying to go multiple directions. Do you want this to only apply to ranged weapons or any weapon? I'm game for either option really. The second bullet says injured enemies, but doesn't state how to the reader what qualifies as injured. I'd recommend looking at how the Colossus Slayer bullet of the hunter ranger to see how it is worded and use that if that was your intent. The extra 1d6 (2d6 because crit rules) does feel a bit lacking, maybe take a page from the barbarians book and just add an extra set of weapon dice? The 3rd applies attacks which would imply literally anything that you make an attack roll for, not just ranged attacks, and not just weapon attacks... That is really friggin' powerful in my book. Not even the Champion archetype gets to apply his expanded crit range to spells.
I think you should clear up what these benefits are applied to in terms of attacks and consider whether or not it should apply to spells, ranged, or weapon attacks. Also I would recommend maybe a bullet to use your bonus action to make a Wisdom (Perception) of Intelligence (Investigation) against the targets AC. If successful, they have Adv on attack rolls against the target until the beginning of the users next turn. You maybe could even tie in you 2nd and 3rd bullets to this. Overall just trying to help the feat live up to the the "Hawkeye" part and feel more interactive. If you do that, i would suggest have the prereq of prof with Investigation or Perception OR follow Marasmusine's advice and give investigation or perception as skills as part of the feat.--Gr7mm Bobb (talk) 13:46, 17 January 2017 (MST)
Made some changes; dropped Dex increase, specialized the enhanced crit range, and added the bonus action check but had it give damage rather than advantage. Figured the flavor of the thing was more "shoot the weak points" than just "shoot hella accurately". Knowlessman (talk) 19:36, 21 February 2018 (MST)
